Attention all West End riders (and those interested in riding in the West End)
Myself and some other West Enders have been throwing around the idea of a weekly ride in the West. There has been interest shown in organizing a weekly event for those who live a little further from ol’ Donny but still in the city. Plus, with no end to winter in sight we can always dream about the warm weather riding season to come.
The trail review written about the Etobicoke Creek (https://www.ridingfeelsgood.com/ontario-mountain-biking-trails-etobicoke-creek/) generated a fair bit of interest in the trails. There has also been a group of riders who have braved the Humber River trails this winter (viewtopic.php?f=61&t=37072). Furthermore, both the Humber River and Etobicoke Creek TORBA Social Rides saw excellent turn outs.
This post is an effort to gauge interest in a weekly ride. The idea for now would be to run a weekly ride, likely Wednesday nights. It has been suggested that we flip/flop on a bi-weekly basis between the two trail systems (E Creek and the South Humber) as this would create some variety and give a chance to showcase both riding locations. We can discuss logistics (meeting places and times) once we get an idea of numbers.
So what say you? Would you be interested?
**I have also posted this in the Etobicoke Creek Forum – Marc hope this is okay.**
Depending on start location and various logistics, I am interested. I have been hit and miss the last couple years with jobs/kids/etc (same old story), hoping to be back around more this year (say this every year…). 🙂
Ha ha ha. I think we are all in the same boat.
Actually, that is one of the motivations behinds these rides (for me anyway). In all honesty it can take me 45mins to an hour to drive to the Don to make 7pm rides and I live at the 427 and Gardiner. Or, I can leave my door and be on the Etobicoke Creek trails in 2 mins…. no brainer for me.
I won’t hold it against you if you don’t make every ride because I likely won’t either:)
West Side represent yo!
Count me in (most of the time)…
I’m fairly westside & will try to make it as well. Of couorse depending on logistics with small child in the house now 🙂
west side is better for me also.
