Solid, this should be a good night!
May 4, 2016 at 2:27 pm #810551Wow, sounds like an amazing group. I am unfortunately working late tonight and can’t make this one. Have a great ride, thanks for coming west guys. Hope you like the trails and I get to make it the next time you come.
@blurredlinesI have that jersey and short here if you want to grab it on the way over.
May 4, 2016 at 5:40 pm #810553@fasttimes Sounds good, as long as traffic isn’t complete trash I should be there near 6:30
May 5, 2016 at 8:55 am #810558Awesome ride last night! Our largest group in a long time.
Great to meet you Preston and , sorry I forgot your dad’s name. Make sure to post up (if you haven’t already) so we have you details to coordinate future rides.
Thanks to @blurredlines and @erich for making the trek out. Hope you enjoyed the trails.
As suspected my ride in the morning was both slower and more painful!
May 5, 2016 at 4:05 pm #810568May 6, 2016 at 9:29 pm #810574I don’t think my suspension is set up right any tips for hard trail riding and small jumps
May 6, 2016 at 10:48 pm #810576@fietser – Thanks for the tour! It was awesome having someone quick giving us the run down as we flew through there. Looking forward to riding there more this year!
@fasttimes – Jersey is super cozy, did a great job of keeping me warm! The shorts were a life saver Thursday night as I got to the lot only to realize my “old reliables” were in a heap on the floor of the “garage” from Wednesday. They’re easily the best fitting and breathable shorts I’ve got. My wife is already threatening to steal them from me!
@prestomtb – I’m running 25% sag and slightly more firm settings on the fork over the shock. I’ve got a couple weeks worth of riding in now and I’m really happy with it. Personally I found the biggest thing for me was getting my rebound speed in a really good spot so that I wasn’t feeling any sort of “top out” as my suspension recovered. Aside from making sure I could get out of the saddle and hammer when I needed to loosing the “bucking” feeling on the rebound made the biggest difference to me. I’m sure @matty-f could help you get everything dialled right in if you’re keen and not worried about spending a little money and having some down time.
May 10, 2016 at 8:59 pm #810649Anyone riding tomorrow?
May 11, 2016 at 7:00 am #810656Hey @prestomtb I will be riding tonight but can unfortunately only ride for an hour. Plan would be to ride basically to Dundas(ish) and return.
May 11, 2016 at 6:00 pm #810667I’m also in for a short ride. Bringing out the rigid bike after building a wheel up for it last evening. My dropper post failed on my Banshee lol.
June 1, 2016 at 10:48 am #810962just wondering if there’s a ride tonight? haven’t made it out before but interested if there’s a group going.
thanks!June 1, 2016 at 11:20 am #810963Unfortunately I won’t be there tonight. I am taking my wife (date night!) to Wvrst for the Ontario Cider Week tap takeover – such an awesome event!
Maybe @aerius or @carpetbomber will chime in if they are planning on riding.
If not tonight be happy to join up with you at another time @rockydenis – Welcome to RFG!
June 2, 2016 at 9:50 am #810975Thanks @ fiester. Would love to get in there with someone who knows the trails. I went for a ride from the baseball diamonds through to dundas – which was great – and then followed some paved paths north as far as Burnhamthorpe. Is there no single track north of Dundas until you get to the north loop? Just wondering if I should focus on exploring the southern section when daylight is an issue.
June 2, 2016 at 12:00 pm #810978Is there no single track north of Dundas until you get to the north loop?
@rockydenis Correct, kinda. The issue is the golf course which is in the way 😉
There is however a trail on the East side of the small creek once you cross over Bloor, it is just after the playstructure (you have to ride through the creek – ENDURO!) The trail continues all the way up through the park and eventually spits your back out on the paved path. Here we usually cut over to Silverthorn and up to Burnamthorpe where you can drop back into the trail on the North side, just before the bridge over E Creek. This is the Southern end of the Northern loops – if that makes sense?
Unfortunately, life is pretty hectic for me for the next few weeks making it hard to pin down a time to get out and ride. I will try my hardest to get out on the Weds. night rides but June is likely my busiest month of the year! That being said the beauty of the Creek is that the trails are fairly straight forward. Plus, exploring is such an awesome part of the sport!
June 30, 2016 at 12:05 pm #811385are the Wednesday ride still going on?
