    Great ride tonight. I rode over from work, and all the way up the rec trail from Queen. Then from Pottery to the Cricket Lot and back to Loblaws for the ride with the usual boys (and girl). 46.5km by the time I got home.

    Hello I am new to this site and would love to get out for a ride with some people who share my love of mountain biking, is registration required for these night rides or is it drop in format? Also where do we meet up, pottery road, loblaws entrance, ect. Any info would be great, thanks.

    I didn’t know it was an option to not apres.

    @erich I’m bringing a light but I’m hoping I don’t need it.

    I’m not a Tuesday regular, so wasn’t sure how you guys rolled.

    It’s dark by about 815 – lights are nice.

    Hi there,

    I’m new here; interested in joining the ride this Tuesday. I don’t have lights. Will there be a slow-ish group or someone with lights I could follow back to the parking lot?

    I see that lights at MEC vary in price quite a bit and I’m relatively new to MTB ; anyone have any recommendations for a good lighting system that won’t break the bank?

    Thx!

    Heya @eric Gee,

    Welcome to RFG! Lights are pretty much a must for the spring/fall. I made this mistake on one of my first group rides and it turned into a walk in the dark, not on a trail, guiding myself out with the iPhone flashlight. Personally I have a 250 Lumen light that’s bar mounted (lost the included helmet mount) that cost about $90, but most folk seem to really prefer the “One on the bar/One on the Helmet” combo and it seems like I’m usually following them for good reason. I’m sure there is a thread over in the “Tech Talk” forums on the topic that may be useful.

    I’m trying to make both rides this week and don’t mind taking it slow and falling behind, but I’d still recommend a light of some kind
