Found them on ebay, I should have had Lynskey add some to my downtube when I ordered my frame. Sort of surprised they aren’t already specced on a bike like this. The Open had them as well as a fourth mount on the toptube for bag or other accessory. Very handy! But I’m not as worried about getting something to work on the downtube as much at s the fork.
January 25, 2017 at 8:59 am #815062Check out @micah356 ‘s amazing Kona Sutra review on the front page of the site. https://www.ridingfeelsgood.com/7500km-across-the-trans-oceania-aboard-the-kona-sutra-ltd/ Pretty dialled setup for what looks like a once in a lifetime bikepacking adventure.

January 30, 2017 at 2:19 pm #815143Here are some of the cage options I’ll be rocking on various bikes during adventures this summer.
(l-r) Anything Cage, Two Fish with velcro attachment, King Cage TI with tool pouch, Anything Cage HD, Blackburn Cargo, King Cage TII’ve got all sorts of washboard straps and other mounting solutions I’ll share when I get a sec.
February 14, 2017 at 11:04 am #815310I also bought these hose clamps with bosses built in for anything I need to secure better. Not a very elegant solution but used by many and works. With three of these, I should be able to comfortably secure an Anything or Cargo cage.
Marc, what is the link to the Ebay seller with these. Think this could be work on my Monstercross. .

February 14, 2017 at 2:50 pm #815312February 21, 2017 at 12:00 pm #815348I’ve been spending a lot of time mapping various routes I’d like to try this spring, summer and fall. The hardest part is fitting together obvious routes and keeping things as off-road as possible. I also want to leave right from my door.
Just put together this 580km loop that I think would be absolutely amazing. Lots of killer sections, enough that it would not be doable on a CX bike. I plan to do a few of the legs this spring to suss it out. Think this is a really cool mix of varied terrain with some really beautiful sections. Be a 3-4 night trip depending on where you wanted to stay and how far you wanted to push it each day.
February 21, 2017 at 1:51 pm #815350That is pretty epic. I have done the whole Barrie / Midland / Orillia circle quite a few times. One of the nicest sections is just south of your route, through Minesing Wetlands, but I can see how that doesn’t really fit in. The whole circle is nice easy rail trail with even a few short paved sections. Not sure which way you are planning to go, but if you ride so that you go from Penetanguishene to Midland, that short section of trail is really amazing. There is a 2km winding paved downhill trail through the woods. Totally unexpected and super fun, with a few blind tight corners to keep it interesting.

Why not push the extra 15 km up to Owen Sound and then take the complete Tom Thomson Trail to the Georgian Trail from OS to Meaford.
That would take you by my house and Coffin Ridge Winery 🙂

Also my buddy Wayne would love to do that ride. He’s an animal. Based in TO. Does a lot of these types of rides.
February 21, 2017 at 4:31 pm #815353That’s definitely on the list as well this summer @mikec
You’ll have to shuttle down and do the ride up with us 🙂
I’ve been followed Wayne on Strava and asking him about his Salsa Cuthroat. Love seeing him bust out 400km rides on weekends. Animal!
Cheers!
February 25, 2017 at 4:14 pm #815373My frame now has a third bottle cage mount 🙂

February 25, 2017 at 6:35 pm #815375Nice! DIY or Lynskey?
February 25, 2017 at 6:39 pm #815376Done at Biseagal in the east end. Lynskey would have been $150 US plus shipping both ways. This was $60. Definitely a quirky shop but Malcolm knows what he’s doing.
I decided to go this route when I realised that the two stock mounts are also riv nuts, not welded. These are exactly the same.
February 25, 2017 at 7:08 pm #815378Good to know. I’ll check him out for mine. Can they do it without striping to bare frame? That would help as well.
