April 2, 2016 at 10:37 am #809935Most places should be nice and frozen tomorrow morning. Anyone riding in the GTA that doesn’t mind a tag along?
Thinking of riding the Don or Dagmar
April 2, 2016 at 10:55 am #809936As far as I know Dagmar is not open for the season yet.
Being all new trails just put in within the last year, they will be even more vulnerable to rutting than established trails.
Keep an eye on the DMBA Facebook page or DMBA.info for information on Dagmar’s opening date.
April 2, 2016 at 11:07 am #809937I think he means ‘Dagmar DH’
No one here is going to ride 3 Rocks, Durham or Dagmar trails until they are announced as ready by the DMBA.
GORBA, and the Hydrocut are also stating that their trails are closed until further notice. Please respect their wishes so we can all have great singletrack in a few weeks.
April 2, 2016 at 12:59 pm #809938Thanks for the notice. I was thinking that Dagmar was similar to the Don and was more ‘self policed’. I think with the temps tomorrow morning everything will be frozen solid but I’ll wait until they are truly opened. I’m too timid to ride Dagmar DH as the first real ride solo. I guess, the Don it is.
April 11, 2016 at 8:34 pm #810051Any thoughts on what will be good for Thursday? Im think of heading to Palgrave. Any similar sites with good draining soil an hour or so from Downtown Toronto?
April 12, 2016 at 1:38 pm #810060@matthewg if I had to go out on a limb I would say that in your ‘hour (ish)’ circle from downtown you could also add Puslinch to your list of ready to roll trails. As of today GORBA and WCC are still reporting their trails closed – hopefully with the upcoming bout of dry weather, plus temperatures and sun we will see more systems opening up in the near future – such a hard time of year to wait!
According Halton Conservation Area website they are projecting Kelso trails to be open for Friday (Apr. 15th).
Hope that helps.
April 13, 2016 at 8:32 am #810072Thanks for the update @fiester! Unfortunately no more day off tomorrow. Will have to wait for Sunday I think. It’s looking glorious tho!
April 13, 2016 at 2:41 pm #810093Turkey Point, which would have been great this weekend will have some trails closed for a controlled burn. It seems to be in the Provincial park so the West side could have some trails open.
I think Dufferin Forest will be the best option for most. The Pines could also be ok.
April 13, 2016 at 2:45 pm #810094Hey folks, I just recently moved from Austria to Downtown Toronto and am searching for some good spots to ride my MTB. If anyone is interested in introducing me to some trails in the area, please shoot me a note! Cheers
April 13, 2016 at 2:51 pm #810095Welcome to RFG @stg1 We’re all happy to show you around the great trails we have. As I am sure your read above, things are still a bit soupy so we are a few weeks away from killer conditions but please be patient and myself of others will be happy to show you the goods. I have posted a few options that could be ridable this weekend. While not right in the GTA, both are fun. Let me know if you need anything.
Cheers,

April 13, 2016 at 3:12 pm #810096Kelso will also be open this weekend. Not sure the conditions will be great but they will be open.
April 13, 2016 at 9:23 pm #810099Thinking I’ll sign-up for the Substance Marathon race this weekend. It’ll be the first ride on the bike of the year, but why not dive in head first (vs. trainer). Hopefully Dufferin Forest will be in good shape.
April 14, 2016 at 5:20 pm #810117It looks like Durham Forest is still a no go for biking this weekend.
Thanks to Adam from Chico Racing for todays update.
