After great success with our winter trail conditions thread, I wanted to start one for the spring. It’s the time of year we are all itching to ride and knowing where to go helps us and the trails. I encourage everyone to share their local trail conditions with the community so we have a centralized location to see all conditions at a glance.

There are the long standing Don (https://www.ridingfeelsgood.com/topic/daily-trail-conditions-in-the-don/) and Etobicoke Creek (https://www.ridingfeelsgood.com/topic/daily-trail-conditions-in-etobicoke-creek/) daily conditions threads on the site. Simply go to the last page for most recent updates. All other trail systems can go here until the different associations and clubs get a daily thread going in the respective regions in the forum.

Today I rode Turkey Point http://www.tpmbc.com These trails are famously good early in the season and this year must be one of the best yet. The trails were in better than mid-summer condition. Not a drop of mud on the east side. Was bone dry with just enough moisture to keep it from being a dust bowl. Trails are free and clear of leaves with only a few trees down. I cleared a bunch today. Was a great day to break in the 29+ wheels on the Pivot.

Pulsinch is also ready to roll, though it will be forested this year for the first time in a long while. I plan to check it out this weekend or early next week

The Agreement Forest is also good with only a few wet areas.

I assume that the Woodstock Cycling Club trails are close to as good as Turkey Point was today.

Durham is still not ready and riders are asked to stay off until the trails firm up.

Those conditions are awesome to see, might have to get out that way this weekend.

Went to check out some of the singletrack in behind the Simcoe County and Board of Education buildings on Hwy 26 yesterday. Most of the snow has gone, but 90% of the trails are still packed snow and ice from winter users.

Welcome to RFG @jason_petznick Thanks for the report on the Board of Ed trails. You may want to poke your head into the Dufferin Forest trails in your hood. All sand based so dry well and little to no damage to the trails even when wet. Happy trails!

Went back to Turkey Point today. This week looks pretty wet so didn’t want to miss today,

Despite driving through hail to get there, the trails were well worth it. They must have had some rain since I was there last as there were a few wet spots, couple of peanut butter patches even, but overall it was mint. I stayed off the West side but saw folks coming out of there despite TPMBC asking folks to stay off. I’m looking forward to doing the full loop.

It’s a long haul to get there but if your craving dirt like I am, it’s a must.

Adam from Chico Racing was in Durham Forest and reports that Durham is still not rideable.
Lots of muddy spots and the frost is not completely out of the ground yet.
    Please be patient.

Well I have myself plenty of free time this weekend but the weather in Toronto has been awful. Anywhere within a reasonable drive with good dirt to ride?

Durham Forest Trails are Still Not Ready to Ride (includes all trails in the Durham Forest area)

March 30, 2016 I took a long walk in Durham Forest and Glen Major to assess the trail conditions. Conditions vary throughout the forest; however, they are still, at least, a couple of weeks from being ready to ride. In many places, the frost is still in the ground especially in the pines and on north and east facing slopes. In some aeas there is remaining pooled water and ice.

Thanks @johnfisher for the update. While we are all chomping at the bit to get out on dirt patience is still required. Hopefully people respect this over the coming weekend.

This weather is such a torturous follow up to a very warm and fairly dry winter. Got out on the Ridge for a quick out of shape ride which was sorely needed. This time of year has me doing my annual “when are we moving to bc” talk with my wife, this year the talk is getting very serious.

    Wow those temps are depressing…
Moving to BC will be reality for us as soon as we are finished working.
We just got back from Vancouver Island where we like to visit every few years. Amazing trails and road riding everywhere pretty much year round.

Might be more snow in April than there was in December!

My wife & I are talking a long term visit in 2017 to see if I can make working remotely happen. My dad & other family live in Vernon & Kelowna so we go there fairly often. Geographically it’s pretty much all Id ever want, just a matter of getting some income to making living there doable.

Tempted to take a road trip to find some dry dirt!

Let’s please keep this on-topic with updates on local trail conditions guys.

Plenty of great, dry (ish) trails to ride in the region. This thread is about riding trails that are ready to roll while avoiding others that aren’t yet.

Puslinch was great yesterday as was AF, The Pines and Turkey Point.

With rain overnight but clear Friday, these should be good again by the weekend. They may be ok later tomorrow but not likely.

I’ll be hitting Puslinch on Sat if anyone would like a guided tour.

A quick trip around palgrave today. Trails there are at 95% this afternoon.

By tomorrow morning they should be mint.
