Time for the second annual Labour day PAIN ride.

Monday morning from…. probably Loblaws… probably early am… around 7 or 8ish. The details will depend on who’s in for an epic 100+km Labour Day ride of pain in the Don and surrounding areas. Here’s what Jeremy, Alen, McBain and myself did last year:

On the 1st anniversary reenactment of this 2012 classic, I will be reprising the role of myself.

We may take some liberties with complete historical accuracy, and skip the part where I had to replace my bike mid-ride.

Now, who’s gonna play the role of Alen?

I will do what I can to make this!
An early start is probably best for me, but I still need to clear it with the “boss” 🙂

OK, Loblaws start at 8am. Around the 50km mark we can refill with water at my work, and I’m planning to have a stash of snacks at my inlaws around the 70km mark. I think Jeremy is planning a stash along the way too.

Great ride today! My final distance was 101km, I’m sure yours was a bit longer since I had to duck out early!

My wheelspeed magnet flew off at 101.8km, so I have to go with the Strava rounded GPS at 165.9km for the day.

The refill stops worked out really well I think. I had a little food left in my pockets and half a bottle when I got home.

    Good ride guys!!

I think we did the 2012 event proud by upping both speed and distance with only a marginal increase in suffering, despite some humidity issues. Good job Boyz.

Oh yes, hi! I’m “back” but under this snazzy new handle. In case anyone didn’t know before I was “Racy” before. Bummed to lose my “Elite” Status!! Now I’ll have to post and post and post to get it back.

BTW, to mark my return I’ve become a contributor. 😀 Check out my first feature! While I was in Park City, the guys in the community there did a similar ride to what you guys did to mark Summer Solstice. 100 miles on their over 450miles of trails. Mark your calendars and show ’em how it’s done next year
