I don’t see any of this in a negative light @fietser. I know a lot of people put time and effort into the park, but I cannot see how it can thrive under the current conditions. Apart from the issues you brought up, there are still aesthetic problems with this type of park in such a visible and prominent location. I have had several negative comments about the way it looks. I know there is the hydro seeding going on, but to most people, it looks like an unfinished construction zone.
I really never thought of this as an off road bike facility. You can ride your MTB there, but I thought it was far more a BMX style place. I certainly think it would have been a much better idea to tie this to a trail system if possible to get the MTB community more interested. I would think the demographic for this park would tend to skew to below 20 years old if not younger. That is who I see there mostly at any rate.
