I’m contemplating a phone mounting system that will work for both MTB, road bike and, ideally, street moto. Quad lock seems to be the way to go… but my concern is whether that extended connection dampens or exaggerates vibration/bumps? also, how is the case and system overall in crashes? Did a back slide on my phone once – that didn’t feel great – and really dislike carrying it in my pant pocket. Would love to be able to use GPS on my moto too.

Any feedback or suggestions for other iPhone mounting systems would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve grown to really enjoy my Garmin for actually following a route. For simply recording a ride I still sometimes use my iPhone but for everything else I rely on my Garmin.

While looking for a mount last time I was in the market, this was the one I settled on: https://www.topeak.com/global/en/products/ridecase

Previously I used the Lifeproof case. They changes the mount though and the new one isn’t as sturdy.

    Thinking of this as well.
I had a lifeproof and it was pretty good except the case caused echo and bad calls (on both ends).
The quadlock look good, kind of pricy though. I like that you can mount in car as well.

I’ve never mounted my phone, but I’ve seen plenty of different designs send phones flying on rough roads. I would suggest getting a case with a tether regardless of which one you go with.

    great idea @micah356!

@fasttimes thanks for suggesting Topeak. Will take a closer look. I like the integrated power supply.
