Looks like we are heading up to this area (Tiny, Ontario) for a week at a cottage. Trailforks is not showing much in the close vicinity, with the nearest mountain bike riding I can see at either Copeland forest or 3stage/Kolapore. I searched the trail listing on this site and also did not see anything closer. Am I missing something?
Thanks for any local beta or confirmation of the above.
July 14, 2017 at 8:50 am #817236We have cottaged near Awenda a few summers and at Thanksgiving. The park offers little in the way of mountain biking. It is about 45 minutes to Harwood or you could join SCMBC and ride their trails . They are around the corner from Harwood. That’s what I have done anyway.
July 17, 2017 at 6:39 pm #817255SCMBC Midland has around 12 kms of nice singletrack. The present problem is that about half of it is being logged. The dedicated Chain Gang will bring it back to it’s former glory , but it will not be until towards the end of summer. You do not need to be a member to enjoy these trails and I think they are on TF.
Tiny Trail is pretty cool for a paved rail trail. Well worth the ride even on a MTB.
If you want a big ride then Copeland or SCMBC Oro would be worth the short drive.
Happy to try to answer any further questions.

July 17, 2017 at 10:33 pm #817256There is a decent loop trail just north of Penetanguishene. It is called Toanche and can be found on trailforks. You park at the south end near the baseball diamond and access it off the west side of the snowmobile trail. Nothing crazy but it was fun the last time I rode it a few years ago.
I would usually just combine the Toanche loop with a bunch of snowmobile trails, you can make a decently long ride out of that.
Where are you staying?

July 17, 2017 at 11:28 pm #817257Unless Toanche was cleaned up within the last few weeks I would not try it. Has not been maintained for a couple of years. Yes it still looks good on Trailforks, but not so good in person. That may of changed very recently, not sure. Word is that Awenda Provincial Park did not like rogue singletrack on their property and let the local bike shop know. Too bad since Awenda is a Huge Beautiful Forest with miles of natural beaches. Oh and a spacious camp ground as well.

Where is the “Tiny Trail”? I ask because we are staying at a cottage in Tiny, Ontario, and will have the kidlets with us, so a paved/easy trail would be awesome if close by.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions – hopefully we can check out a couple of the options listed.
