Three weeks until Labour day, which means it’s time to start this discussion…..

Anyone interested in doing another SBDDR this year? Loblaws start around 8am, ride all day covering basically everything in the Don up to Steeles, 80-110km.

Or… any other suggestions? Last years Lake Simcoe ride was pretty good.

I could host my typical Thanksgiving 110km+ trail ride from Durham to Toronto on Labour Day when the weather isn’t so… Octoberish.

Nick, those are serious rides – you make me feel like a lightweight!

I am not available for a big ride Labour Day weekend, but would like to do a BDDR in the fall sometime. There was some talk floating around of maybe doing it Thanksgiving weekend this year?

    Watching this thread.

I will admit that I was pondering a Lake Simcoe Loop on Labour day, but I hesitate to openly advocate for roadie content on what was traditionally a Don MTB weekend.

We could try to combine the two…..

What did you have in mind @ghettocruiser ?

Ride to Kelso, Hardwood, Albion, or Durham forest, ride around, ride back?

If we do a SBDDR, I’m planning to ride to, and home from the ride. Should put it over 200km.

One option might be to mod the Simcoe Loop with more railtrail, dirt roads, and the like.

The duelling BDDR and Lil’DDR that ended up at the stunt camp for thanksgiving turkery fry-up is legendary to me. I’d be down for MedDDR if there’s a big ol’ meet up after.

So the vibe here is to defer to Thanksgiving?

October is admittedly a better time of the year for trails that are prone to overgrowth.

I’ll defer to a roadie-based loop around Lake Simcoe as per last year for Monday, maybe with bonus miles depending on the cast of characters.

That was quite the cast you bought to that ride last year. Have fun!

There was not enough interest to run my long ride, but will try again Thanksgiving weekend.

It looks like I’ll be joining some form of BDDR now.

Wow! Looks like you hit some nice trails! How long did the ride end up being?

    Thanks for pics.

We did some of the East, some of the West, and then some of us went down to Ontario Place to watch the Air Show and take a ride on a boat.

    60km day for me.

Thanks for hosting us on your boat Andrew!

Great ride and après everyone. Thanks for the photos. I worked on a few of the dark ones:

Thanks for the edits @micah356 ! You can actually identify the riders now! I should really learn how to do that myself.

FWIW I took almost 200 pics on Monday (with many 3-5 shot sequences) , I wouldn’t even say these were the ‘best’ per se but I kept the posting here to pretty much one shot per location. If anybody wants a ‘full package’ of their shots pm me your email. Many of them would benefit from attention like Micah has given the above though.
