Ready your fat bike and studded winter tires!
Time to close the spring/summer thread and start sharing fall/winter trail conditions so we can all make the most of our time riding.
Thanks to all who contribute here.
Happy trails.November 12, 2019 at 5:09 pm #821490
I am all set and ready for the winter season…With our first snowfall of the season I had a real fun commute home from work yesterdayNovember 13, 2019 at 2:47 pm #821491
Fatbike ready to go with 4.7″ non-studded tires. What are the chances the Don will be rideable tonight?November 18, 2019 at 12:33 pm #821492
Durham seems to be running well as is Dufferin. Neither are groomed at this point but should be after this dump.November 25, 2019 at 4:48 pm #821498
Snow is gone at Turkey Point and the trails have bounced back well. I’m heading down for a few days of riding tomorrow. All welcome if anyone wants to join. Hunting season is closing down so the full 80km loop should be possible.December 3, 2019 at 8:46 am #821510
Just got word that Dufferin Forest has been partially groomed. Should be great with this cold snap.December 17, 2019 at 3:04 pm #821532
Was getting tired of the frozen ground with no snow situation we’ve had thus far, so pulled the trigger on a trip to Durham. I definitely got the winter wonderland I was after. Lots of snow, some ice, but great overall. I rode with studs, which did save me when pushing it, but riders will be fine without if cautions.
Conditions should remain the same for the foreseeable future.January 1, 2020 at 1:10 pm #821572
Rolled the dice on unicorn conditions at Turkey Point this past Monday. Stayed over and got a big dump of snow on Tuesday but it was totally worth it. Riding in a jersey on dirt in January is just what the doctor ordered.
Happy new year to all you awesome RFG members. Cheers!January 1, 2020 at 3:28 pm #821573
I spend 2 hours riding at Puslinch Lake early this morning, the trail conditions were perfect. There was some snow but not much ice. Didn’t need studded tires, regular MTB tires did just fine. Great way to start new year.January 20, 2020 at 5:16 pm #821647
The Agreement Forest was all-time today. Finally some proper winter riding!
Was also back to Turkey Point last week, ahead of the snow, and it was primo winter loam.View this post on Instagram
Super fun day riding primo dirt in January. Quickened the damping and Tallboy was ready to play. #ridingfeelsgood #winter? . . . #santacruzbicycles #tallboy #performxtraining #otecanada #irideenve #cyclesolutions #dhrmarketing #towheels #sweetpetesbikeshop

Whats the word on winter riding in The Don?
Regular 2.x” tire width with studs makes for some winter fun?
