I certainly wish those Kingston trails were there (or I knew about them!) when I was at school there. Spent most of my time poking around exploring out by the Fort and beyond. Would certainly be up for a little road trip out there to hit up those zones you have posted up they look wicked fun.

Yes the MTB Kingston trails are good. I am one of the crew who does alot of the trail work on them. Great private landowners who out of their generosity have allowed MTB Kingston access to their land to build these trails. Alot of credit to where the system is to date is from the work of Kyle Sangers dad Rob. So access is a little different than normal public areas.

It must be noted that all the MTB Kingston trail are on private land. Through Rob’s work we where able to keep access to a section that changed owners over the winter. So it needs to be said unfortunately that unless you are a club member or with a member as a guest there is no public access. This is at the request of the land owners and because of the membership numbers is now enforced.

I certainly don’t mind paying to ride that much trail especially knowing it is in such amazing condition. Given that it is on private land I understand how the rules of engagement are different than if it were on public land. I have friends Kingston way and so this would be a great excuse to get up there and visit more often.

Again, well done Kingston MTB glad you found a solution that works for your community to build some fantastic trails.

Unfortunately it has to be this way. The council and such are not off road bike friendly……don’t bike on the grass.

Biggest positive to this as a trail worker is no nonsense politics.

Thanks @tom_shaw A tour in the amazing SCMBC trails is next on the list. How has the logging been this summer?

SCMBC has had lots of logging damage, but thankfully we also have lots of singletrack. We are ready for a tour whenever you are up for one Fast Times.

We are also working with our local township for our Take A Kid MTBing day on Oct 4th. They have a nice piece of property that they would like us to develop into a larger MTB trails area. Good things continue to happen in Simcoe County for MTBing.

First shakedown ride on the new (non-boost) 5010. Rode my home trails to best appreciate what the bike was capable of.

Felt amazing on its maiden voyage. Sits nearly exactly in the middle ground between my Tallboy and Bronson, exhibiting the best traits of both really. Weighing in at 25lbs with pedals. Feels very capable and very playful on the trails. Looking forward to some adventures on this one!

Well, I think it’s safe to say this without jinxing myself. I am on pace to hit my goal of 100 off-road rides this season. I only loosely defined the season as pre-winter riding time and only decided half way through the season that I wanted to hit this goal. I started to track my rides in April and yesterday I completed ride number 99. These rides have translated to roughly 1,826 km. I know lots of guys have way more than this under their belt but for me, with my responsibilities and schedule, this is an accomplishment I am proud of.  Now I will look at tracking rides over an entire year and hope to be in the 175-200 range.

Here are some pics from my last few rides. Love this time of year. Fall time all time! If all goes well, tomorrow will be ride 100, rain or shine.

2016 goals include more rides, with more riders at more destinations.

100 rides is a great amount of saddle time if you ask me. I’m pushing 60 or so and I feel like I’m able to get out about twice week, which is not enough!

Where are you finding thoses nice manicured rocks & wood? I leave the don so little..

I think I see some Durham Forest and Dagmar in those shots.

That’s a good bit of riding Marc. Jealous. Hasn’t been a good season for me.

I couldn’t have asked for a better hundredth ride. Started in the rain and finished in the snow. Was nothing short of epic.

The Bronson feels amazing right now. Freshly tuned shock and for from Suspension Werx. So good.

Every ride is gravy now. Plan to ride everyday I can, rain or shine.
