I think this is the ride you are looking for @jcitizen. I’d take that 40k with a bit of a grain of salt. Last fall we did 50k and it took about 7 hours, so I expect we will clock in a much less than that. The West and some East is what’s on deck, so I think you will be fine. And if not, you could always break off for a bit and rejoin. Unfortunately, now all I can think about is your winter bod so you may need to ride shirtless.
I don’t wanna turn the group into stone, so I’ll keep my shirt on, thanks.
K, i’ll jump in with you guys and probably bail somewhere along the line if need be. I have this memory of doing a mid-summer BDDR and it taking like 3+ hours to go like 17km in the summer heat and I bonked pretty hard.April 25, 2016 at 11:42 am #810314
@trailhead and @maestro-sm-ben, your music requests have been confirmed by Good Enough. They will play Miley’s “Can’t Stop” and Queen’s “Bicycle Race”.
Get ready to channel your inner Freddie Mercury!April 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm #810349
@jcitizen you won’t be the only one with winter legs this time, besides with a good size group going there will be plenty of rest time in between trails, you’ll be fine.April 25, 2016 at 2:05 pm #810350April 25, 2016 at 4:13 pm #810353
and she has made flowery, day of the dead head badges for the group. With rhinestones! You can’t really beat that, can you?
I was pretty confident I was going to do the Dirty Don ride, but now that head badges on on the table I’m conflicted as to what to do.April 25, 2016 at 9:16 pm #810359
Both should be good @whisky_cactus but you be careful – I told Christine “Hubbles Return” is an upcoming Game of Thrones episode title. Try bringing it up and you will be lynched for “sharing spoilers”!April 27, 2016 at 11:45 pm #810389

Weather is looking great for tomorrow – pumped to ride bikes! Crazy busy week and sadly I haven’t even touched my bike this week!
E Creek guys (@fasttimes, @swiftflow and any others – post up so we know you are coming) just a thought, given MC Park is a fairly big place we should nail down a more specific meeting spot. If you are planning on driving the actual parking lot is on the South side of Lakeshore so perhaps it makes most sense to meet down there?April 29, 2016 at 12:52 pm #810421
Looking forward to the big dirty, I’m pumped to get get the hard tail out and fit for duty! Glad I won’t be the only one with spring legs!
Edit: I’ll be the roadie crossover on a Crave, back to my roots! Might even be able to find the visor for my helmet…April 29, 2016 at 1:45 pm #810422
Hey @spreader – great you can join! It should be good group. I have had 12 or so confirm to me directly that they will be joining, so expecting maybe 15-20? Maybe more? Who knew mountain bikers were so shy?
Just a reminder for everyone to bring some food and water. Expect to feel the burn tomorrow for sure, but this will be primarily a social ride. A hard, painful social ride! All are welcome, so please come if you are on the fence. I know there will be at least one first timer for a Don group ride. For anyone that wants to join up midway, feel free to pm me for my number. Like I said, we should be departing cricket tree about 2:30 and the other main break spots will be lookout, rehab, and then Sunnybrook at 3:30. We’ll assess from there. Cheers!

I’m in for the Big. Not sure I’ll make the starting gun, if not I’ll track you down around gundy.April 29, 2016 at 5:28 pm #810425
I run a pair of bottles, in this weather it should last 30km easily. Toss a pb&j on a pocket plus a few gels and maybe a clif bar… At the pace we’re like to have with so many people, I think that should be enough to get to Amsterdam to refuel!!April 29, 2016 at 5:52 pm #810426
I’m so in… Provides did can fly back in time. Stuck in Chicago and dying for a chance to ride the west end trails with expert guides!
See you at noon!April 29, 2016 at 7:20 pm #810428
Pumped. Even put some new bling on for the ride.
