It happens a little every time it gets wet down there. If it was a real problem the jumps would be destroyed by now, nothing to fret over guys.

    In a perfect world…

Very true, my man… very true.

Although what everyone’s built down at the DJs is indeed incredible… what is more impressive is the amount of care and time that has, and will continue, to go into keeping them in good shape.

It’s easy to build – anyone can do it. Not everyone builds and maintains, and that’s something where we more than hold our own in many areas 🙂

Kids build. Men build AND keep it ridable for years!

    ugh

You sound like some ol geezer that has had a club membership at some private golf club (like, forever) and every time he sees a divot on the course he chastises the evil soul who put it there and why, oh why, aren’t they carrying a grass seed mix to repair their divots . . . 😉

    Oi
Some serious bulldozing going on the lower part of the ridge . By the bottom of the long gravity skinny . Not sure what they are doing , but they have cleared quite a patch . Hasn’t effected any trails , yet .

I noticed a fair amount of vegetation and trees cleared from the area, hydro probably, there is a small station near there.

It’s hydro, they’re putting in a new fence around the substation, and fixing the roadway.

    Cool
Sorry for the red alert .
I guess I got a bit over-heated from the ride . Fawk its hot out there . Saw bulldozers smashing $h*t , and thought I would post up . Good to hear its not going to trash the trail .

    cheers

Hmm 🙂 I’ll have to check the area out. Last time I was in there a tree fell and blocked the road, so I turned the car around and headed out. Usually ride through the area pretty fast on my bike so don’t give it too much of a look – thanks for keeping yer eyes out.

True, alot of the time bulldozers _are_ bad news, but then again… sometimes they wind up cutting new trail or clearing out a new jump line without realizing it 🙂 The Don = reuse & recycle, hehehehe

    HOLY FREAKIN SHIT

Hell ya it’s hot, this is the first time I’ve ridden down there when it been this hot. Seams like I only had 1/4 the energy I normally have and since my energy levels are low to begin with, I had nothing.

After 3 hrs it just seamed like… work, and thats just wrong.

CDD, Amen to that. I had to quit clearing some trails early last week – I just couldn’t hack it anymore. Normally I love being out there working, it’s great – but I got dizzy and felt higher than I should have felt, got shivers, etc. If it was 20-25°C I could have easily gone for another 3-4 hours. Now I can’t vouch for this either, but I think the heat might have played a role in my Stihl weed whacker conkin’ out and having to go into the shop – think I worked it too yard. Yep, that’s right – I’m so hardcore (or sloppy?) I bust Stihl gear 🙂

Thank goodness that it was hydro clearing the area – I was ready to be all pissed that it was kids that hacked down that leaning tree you used to have to duck under. Bad on me for assuming that. In any case, hope they don’t harm too much more of the area, ie, I’m guessing the trail’s still passable and Skinny-Dick/VOTLR is still kosher?

    Cheers,
    B

p.s. nice quick job on the photo recon, tight yo

Hey, we should all tell Dirty C4 that they’re gonna pave over the area and build Don trail destruction headquarters there 😉
