Just rode Pottery, Flats, Boo, Swamp, SHT, Ridge and Crothers… a few puddles , but otherwise pretty much perfect! Nice and grippy. Leaves have largely mulched/blown away too so not as much of a hazard. Beautiful day to get out there!November 8, 2017 at 1:19 pm #818096
Thanks to @rob_deboer, I tried a new loop linking Boo > Swamp > Gundy > SHT > Asylum > Rehab > Hubber Flowsmith > Foreplay > Boo > Bunny > Dirt Farm > Poop Droppings, which achieved a personal goal of pairing Rehab & Bunny (I feel they’re birds of a feather; or perhaps rabbits of a fur). Speaking of birds, saw a hawk. Saw the new sign! Saw runners crossing from Ridge onto Catalyst Climb. And maybe four other riders. So you gotta get out there! It’s falltime sightline alltime, beautiful.November 13, 2017 at 10:28 am #818105
Two trees down on Cat as of Saturday mid-day. Neither will catch you by surprise (heading westbound) but both will require a stop. The first is an easy step over, but the second is completely blocking the trail. Several trees are involved and the only way through is a sketchy hillside climb-around.
The scaffold on BoT may be on the move. Looks like it’s been packed and staged for collection from the bridge above.
In other trail-related news, I met a white tail deer with a small rack of antlers on Bunny Droppings. It jogged along on the trail in front of me for a short spell. Amazing to see such a thing in ‘downtown Toronto’.

Motown almost perfect today. Greasy in some wrong spots, grippy in all the right ones.
Hat tip to the Viking I conceded trail to near the turnaround, and the OG trio who taught me how to make snow tires.November 15, 2017 at 12:45 am #818120

New trail tools available now.November 15, 2017 at 5:58 pm #818124
Sign me up for that obviously giant sized cookie. Good use of the flashy silver plated saw for scale!November 16, 2017 at 11:09 am #818126
Did that Wednesday rain mess up the perfect trail conditions from Tuesday? Where’s @mcbain when we need him most?November 16, 2017 at 12:47 pm #818132
Yes, mess. Just tried and it’s way too wet.
Cursing myself for not going yesterday before it started spitting.November 17, 2017 at 3:37 pm #818165
Things were pretty good on Catalyst and all points north in the morning, but got a little grease as the morning went on. Should likely avoid oob/beaverflast for a bit as the low points are very wet and muddy.November 17, 2017 at 9:43 pm #818166
1 PMish Boo Gundy SHT Asylum Rehab Bunny Dirt Poop good. Some mud on Swamp, Flowsmith hills/wall too slippy.
Otherwise nice, if chilly!November 20, 2017 at 5:21 pm #818183
Crothers and Ridge muddy in the expected spots but otherwise rolling fine, even with leaves here and there.

Rode about noon today
Wind and sun drying things up
River Trail, Ridge, Boo, Swamp, Wood Gundy, Secret Hidden, Asylum, Bunny, Motown – excellent – mostly dry, few small sections with leaf buildup but not really an issue
Five Play – wet at the start with lots of leaves on the trail – didn’t continue
Fence Wars – River Trail – Workers had re-installed the fence below the Bridge over the Don Valley (O’Connor Bridge?). They were working on the next fence just north when we passed. We found a way around the one at the bridge but it involved some bushwhacking.November 22, 2017 at 7:07 am #818199
Leaves have been cleared from the Ridge up to 4play and (but not Crothers, Garbage Cow, or 5play). Greasy in spots but should dry out quickly and help get the frost in the ground sooner.
Beaver Flats is a sloppy mess in the middle beneath the Doobatorium and the bridges are kinda treacherous. So much water in the ground that that slope continues to slump! Fingers crossed that the trail is still there next spring…
BOT – the scaffolding under the bridge has been dismantled and packed for pick-up, but in the meantime someone has built a Joyride 150 franchise out of the ramps. You can see it from the top so no danger riding into it accidentally, but it’s skinny, high, and the fall zone is not forgiving.
A few trees down on the start of Catalyst. Thanks to the beavers who cleared some big stuff 4play, Catalyst @ Overlea, etc.November 22, 2017 at 10:21 am #818200
In addition to the above, two more items:
Ridge – massive tree down around the mid-point. You can sneak around the downhill end slowly. This tree has been 311’d so no need for local beavers…
Flats – there’s a new re-route safely bypassing the section of trail falling into the river but the transition to it is a little abrupt, particularly southbound.
