Rode Oob for the first time in months and it was great. You can fairly easily pedal the trail now without dabbing at all which I would not have believed if someone told me just yesterday. This trail is a work of art. Can’t wait to ride it after the snow falls – with the pines and the river and the ice accumulation up the ravine on that side, I bet it is going to be a beautiful winter trail.

    Nice running into yesterday!

Oob is a really nice option when you just wanna cruise through woods and forget about the world. Had a really close hawk siting in there, and the ferns this spring were amazing!

What is this Trump Jump you speak of?! I’m almost compelled to send it just on principle….

Fantastic riding conditions on the weekend and a sunny forecast ahead. Cooler temperatures, few mosquitoes, Don-crete trails, and some leaves starting to turn. Be prepared to pick a million little burrs off your kit though…

The annual Wild Bettys’ Funduro is scheduled for Tuesday evening in Crothers Woods on the trails south/west of Redway Road. Come by to cheer/volunteer, or give the area a pass if you want to avoid gridlock.

Further north, most bridges on PA are new, but four of the five heading up the Tremco climb are first generation and reaching their life span, especially the last/highest one which is not sound. Take the direct line to the final steep pitch and skip those last two bridges. Bridges on Catalyst are also in decline. Much work to be done.

Roller Flowster / Smith’s Edge – if you tend to carry speed off the first boulder drop you may be surprised by the lack of catch berm that was built to hook you left. Looks like some builders have borrowed much of it for a cleaner entrance to the Excavator jump. That line is currently closed and doesn’t lead anywhere, but anyone missing that corner at speed is good and proper f*****.

Oob is opposite Boo, and it’s just an extension of Beaver Flats. Formerly “DNA Adventure” on Trailforks, now all Beaver Flats.

And the Trump Jump is, like POTUS, something you should be wary of on principle. If you decide to session it, however, bring a spotter to avoid conflict on the landing and replace the signage when you’re done.

Someone did some smoothing on Pottery DH… thank you! Checked out Oob for the first time… what a neat trail. Those bridgy rocky bits by the river come up quick and were pretty slippery this morning.

Haha – I’ve never made it down that far, but there’s a joke in there somewhere about any Don Valley trail needing to be “smoother”……

Hell it seems like people are actually removing rocks from the trail in some spots! All those bumpy bits are just so annoying I guess……:D

@rob_deboer – Glad to hear someone else is enjoying it. I know how dumbing down the rutted out eroding trails in favour of sustainability and flow stirs up some of the internets soapbox hero’s, but as a participant I genuinely appreciate the positivity.

Conditions wise everything south of Redway road is pretty prime, a lot of stuff was trimmed back for the Wild Betty’s Funduro and makes for a far more enjoyable ride in the area.

Seriously? Fucking annoying. If you can’t ride it stick to the road.

Heads up: further deterioration of bridges on Catalyst and PA (just on Tremco climb) is noticeable even after only a few days . Looks like the warranties are all expiring in the same month!

Adding dirt is great, brings it back to it’s condition, but removing rocks or cutting roots, thats bad juju.

    PS, we riding next week?

    Oob is opposite Boo,

That’s the best trail name that I’ve heard in a long time.
