Just to build on the above

Boo = good, one big swamp area, but passable and fine

Serena Grundy connector/swamp/Vietnam = rideable, a couple spots that require a walk through, but it’s 98% good

GSPOT = good to go, didn’t expect to see new trail on my first ride, but it looks like it’s being extended. Not complete, but will surely be awesome when done

Foreplay = bone dry, so dry the dirt is white in many spots

    Pottery entrance/Crothers = good

Ridge = good, but two spots should be walked until drier (after the bridge pass with rock cages)

    The season has begun!!!

Has anyone ridden catalyst, rim job or PA?

My guess is rim job will be a mess still.

On foot from BOT up to 4play – conditions are ideal. Even the soft spots will benefit from some tire smoothing so get out there. Blue flowers are popping up. Extended winter is forgotten and forgiven. But yes, sunscreen. Seriously.

First ride of the season for me, passed 8 peds and 0 riders. Cricket players still in the majority at the cricket lot, but I can see that might not be the case in a few years time. The best part was the comparative silence along the ridge. With the dvp closed, the trail experience was completely transformed. I realized I had never previously been out on the dvp maintenance weekend.

gundy northbound loop is nice, only mud is the perpetual hole just down/west of the pine tree hill on SHT… it is deep!
5 dogwalkers and about 30 offleash pylons… they should really build a dogpark around there somewhere

Sunscreen for sure. I pulled a classic Canadian move and got fried on the weekend. Who gets a sunburn a week after winter?

Trail update: The short of it…summer conditions.

    Catalyst: good to go
Rim Job: Good to go. Big thanks to the trail builders for “fixing” the switchback, very easy to ride now
    PA: Good to go
Climbax/Ejac: Good to go (one muddy corner on the climb up 3/4 of the way that should be walked until drier)

So, the entire West end is ridable. Tomorrow I venture to the East side.

Went riding yesterday afternoon. Conditions were great. All of Crother’s, flats… The trail along the west side of the river at Seaton Park. (Whatever it’s called) was wet and\or greasy. So I gave up pretty quick.

Probably stating the obvious here, but everything is 100% mint. Rode all, but Training Loop and Fruitloop today.

Hopefully we won’t get a major downpour over the next few days. If it’s light, conditions shouldn’t deteriorate too badly.

I don’t know what this trail is called, but the first pic shows the entrance to the trail and a bit into it, there’s a big tree being held by a little tree. I call it the karma tree, because if you go under it and it snaps, well, you dead. I’ve gone under it a few times and i lived, so I have good karma ^.^

EDIT: not sure how to attach photos since they weren’t showing, so here are the links.

That trail is called ‘STD’ if I remember correctly and that tree’s been there for a few seasons now. It’s not the only problem on that trail as it’s washed out in at least two spots where you have to ride on the GO train tracks for quite some distance, not very safe since GO train service has increased considerably. I’d suggest Motown->Dr. Quads->FruitLoops as an alternative ride.

Was in last night and rode the east and all was in great shape., getting close to Hero dirt. On a side note Training loop has some drainage problems and a down tree.

I really don’t like motown…it’s so narrow and that part where you can basically fall to your death is a no go for me.

When i was on the STD trail, i moved a ton of fallen trees/logs out of the way, so it is rideable. It is kinda short,…once I climbed up and over the tracks the second time, I couldn’t find a trail head to continue on…yet the the way it is now is pretty short and sweet, minus the karma tree. Can we call it the karma tree now? HEHE
