Yup. I’m a bridge builder in training. I promise the next one will be bigger.

They would definitely be put to good use. Some TLC is required to a few of the planks at the start of Catalyst and the big divot/drainage ditch on Motown.

    Where is the build?

Daily trail conditions should have been a traffic report today. To say the demo day went well would seem to be a massive understatement. Wow.

Other than that, dusty with lots of little bugs by the river. Water seems really low. If it does not rain in the next week or two, we might be riding down a river bed!

Found it yesterday. If you go up the hill/road from cricket tree to the upper entrance to Catalyst, you’ll see it randomly on a flat section of the trail.

Oh sorry I saw the orig q and forgot to answer it last week.
It actually hides an eight inch steel spike that I’ve been looking at for years. I’ve never run into it myself but with all the night traffic the Don gets im sure somebody has.

All that rain should keep the dust down for awhile. I’m guessing things will be great everywhere by Tuesday night. Two things from recent walkabouts:
    1. Ridge @ northernmost stream crossing by Cricket lot – all three “features” over the water (teeter, planks x2) are no longer well-anchored. I’ve witnessed two wipeouts in the last week (always the second rider getting taken out by a bouncing board).
    2. G-spot – massive rootball from freshly fallen gigantic tree took about 3m of trail where the sideslope is steepest. Getting across the gap requires some acrobatics.

Thanks for the heads up. I suspect Point 1 will also apply to Catalyst soon enough…some of the initial bridges/planks have taken some abuse.

Totally. I’d love to see all these drainage crossings with low elevation just be rocks etc. Lots of that seems to have been done on Catalyst and it works well. Seems to hold up better and not have as much potential for a stupid bail when wet. If I’m gonna bail, I want it to be on something cool.

I’ll do my best to lend a hand with such projects to all those builders out there – PM me!

On foot early this morning in Crothers/Flats/Ridge. Still greasy in spots but should be good for tonight and heroic for Wednesday. Sight lines are greatly decreased so keep your head up around the corners. Never hurts to call out, especially during rush hour. On yer bike!

Glad I got in all the motown I could before the jungle invades.

Extremely busy in there tonight. Thick and a little greasy in some areas but still real nice 🙂

Tomorrow should be absolutely perfect if the weather keeps up like today.

    Enjoy the ride!

Rode all West end last night… great shape, very few slick spots. Crazy busy as mentioned.

HUGE, HUGE, HUGE thank you and shout out to whoever is doing/has done the recent work on Foreplay. The drainage, rerouting, etc is awesome.

And…wow, Gspot erosion/tree fall sure did take out a segment of trail.
