Team Smith’s Edge, the trail is riding really well now. A few mods and a couple of alt lines have made all the difference. The big rollercoaster is killer!

Also, saw a dude with a full-on Dirt Bike heading into the don at Pottery. It was electric, so I was a bit more polite than I normally would have been as I let him know motorized vehicles are a no-go in the Don. Mentioned he was just heading into ride the old rail lines, but nonetheless, this worries me a touch.

    And the conditions: Rad.

Been in today, WOW great riding. Trail behind sunnybrook hospital is great, what is left of vietnam has a few muddy sections but still totally ridable, serena gundy is perfect, Climbma and 2nd cummings are great, Boo trail is fine, ridge to loblaws rocks is perfect aswell. Get out there and ride.

Everything was great today! I saw a groundhog or something run into this hole at the beginning of Smith’s Edge.

If I had stopped any longer than I did on Motown early this morning, I’d have had to get a blood transfusion. Mosquitos are back, bring the bug spray.

Great conditions Crothers thru Serena Gundy. So cold this morning that the nettles in my shins didn’t start stinging until I was thawing in the shower. All the fruity trees dropping their petals makes for decorative bits of trail. Definitely needed clear lenses under the canopy today.

Early May temperatures, July conditions…can’t really complain. 🙂

Anyone familiar with this Giant Hogweed plant? Sounds nasty and is in the don:

“Even a tiny trace of sap applied to the eye can singe the cornea, causing temporary or permanent blindness, he added. The chemicals in the sap, furocoumarins, are carcinogenic and teratogenic, meaning they can cause cancer and birth defects.”

@jcitizen have you seen it in the Don?

I’d like to know the location so I don’t crash into it while riding

I heard about it a few years ago, but have never seen it. I had no idea it could be 6m tall!

The images of burns are disgusting! And, the plant looks like some tropical monster.

I know the City removed a large amount of it from right beside a playground in the Etobicoke Creek a couple years ago. The City had posted signs beside it warning people to stay out and avoid contact.

    Is that a training bridge?
