The East Coast Open Returns for 2014

June 3, 2014

May 30, 2014: Blue Mountain Resort is excited to announce the return of the East Coast Open downhill mountain bike race, offering the largest prize purse in Ontario! Bikers of all kinds will be taking over the resort from June 27-29 for the 2nd Annual Pedal Fest, featuring events like the East Coast Open Downhill Race, Whip Off, Kids Cross Country Race, outdoor film screening, guided bike tours, bmx bike demos, sponsor village, nightlife and more.

“We have decided to go back to the roots of the East Coast Open and really showcase what Blue Mountain is known for – its downhill mountain biking,” said event organizer, Erika Langman. “With the expansion of the new terrain last season including the makeover of the expert run Haole, and the construction of the new beginner run The Groove, the Blue Mountain Bike Park now has so much more to offer every level of rider.”

The East Coast Open will include both amateur and open divisions, with tons of prizing up for grabs from event sponsors Teva, Troy Lee Designs, Smith, Rocky Mountain Bikes, Dakine, Lifted and Blue Mountain Resort.

All the event information can be found online at http://www.bluemountain.ca/pedal_fest.htm or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BlueMountainBikePark/events

  1. Pumped. Although slightly gutted there will be no dual slalom this year. Bad courses, good courses, bad turn out good turn out it was always one of my favorite events to ride in.
