It is pretty silly in there, I rode/hiked Moore Park Ravine>Pottery>Cricket>Taylor Creek path into the shop today and will likely do the same home but it was a tough slog. If anybody is in there tonite post up and maybe I can try to rendezvous but stuck at Solutions til at least 7:15.
As of noon today virtually no ice on that stretch, studs are…[Read more]
That is crazy that the big tree is gone! I was through probably about 1:30-2:00 and it was still there, I tried clearing a bit of a path around the high side of it, which was obviously a bit redundant. I will take credit for the haircut in the incline between the new ladder bridge and the staircase, and also muscled a tree that was sticking into…[Read more]
Like I said my response was mostly devil’s advocate, I have encountered moto in there but don’t remember the experience as particularly negative. It just seems like so much of what we do and enjoy out of the valleys is allowed to happen through blind-eyes turned and generally keeping off the radar, and it scares me to think that a single negative…[Read more]
Sorry to hear this happened. Though this is probably not the response you want to hear, in the interest of fairness E Creek was used by MX bikes long before mountain bikers. This does not make it any more or less illegal and rules of common courtesy and safety should still apply, but they were definitely there first, and (pure conjecture) may be…[Read more]
Thanks for the edits @micah356 ! You can actually identify the riders now! I should really learn how to do that myself.
FWIW I took almost 200 pics on Monday (with many 3-5 shot sequences) , I wouldn’t even say these were the ‘best’ per se but I kept the posting here to pretty much one shot per location. If anybody wants a ‘full package’ of their…[Read more]
Do you need Boost? No.
Is it better? Yes.
If you want to be mad about the industry pushing lateral ‘innovation’, be mad at 142×12. The percantage stiffness increase claims were nice in ad copy but in real life more of the flex is going on between the hub flange and the rim than the hub axle and frame. Pretty sure that most of these gains could…[Read more]

Well, Strava says I’ve done it a bit quicker but this is like top 3-5 for me.
Apologies for the shaky bar-mount and shameless self-promotion.
I’ve done recon on the other side of the course recently, and was the guy that stupidly and awesomely led a BDDR thru the open golf course a few years back to access that trail.
No, what I want is a sweet singletrack along the uninterrupted forest along the west side of the course. The woods are prime for it. I’m not even worried about the golf…[Read more]
Yeah I had some apparently not-totally-accurate intel that there might be a trail from Wilson along the west edge of the golf course to Earl Bales, and while it looks like the potential is there, I couldn’t make anything out.
There is definitely somebody’s bed/living set-up under Wilson there just south of the GC, so keep that in mind if exploring.
