Guess I should ask—is the North Don rideable? I quit a couple weeks ago but it’s been dry and warm enough that I was thinking of getting down there today and tomorrow….anyone?

Well obviously you’ve discovered that these forums have died. 🙂
You’ll want to get the Trailforks app which is a great tool for trail finding. There are some social media pages but they are mostly super annoying…or I might be getting old.
There’s been lots of little tweaks and updates but Trash Panda is the only brand new trail I’ve ridden…[Read more]

I’ve been pretty slow getting rolling this year due to some lingering injuries, but tried Trash Panda a couple days ago–fantastic build. That sharp left-hand ridge turn about halfway through is washing out a bit and likely needs some support, and I’m happy to help if the trail builder wants a hand or needs materials. Cheers!

The new Rehab line that bypasses the landslide has been fenced up and filled in. Looks like a City job? Too bad.

Conditions cold but fantastic on the Serena Gundy to Sunnybrook loop. Sight lines are great. The new Rehab line will get some tweaks and some poor derp will inevitably end up in the brook, but it’s a great start by those guys.
Unfortunately they messed around with the iconic flow section at the DH end of Fourplay and screwed up the perfect f…[Read more]

Yeah…what’s annoyed me about those Feedback stands is that unlike Park Tool, they don’t give the feet dimensions. So the PT 4-2 stand takes up a 26.5″ by 28″ square….the 10.2 takes up a bit more floor depth. I guess I’d need to visit Sweet Pete’s and measure out the Feedback myself, but from the pictures it seems like it would be bigger than…[Read more]

I’ve got a small single garage (not used for car park), but no wall space to store bike due to workbenches and shelving. Currently the bike is locked to a metal shelf, but it’s super inconvenience and not easy to work on or access the shelf.
Was thinking of getting a nice bike stand for permanent storage use, and place the setup in the middle of…[Read more]

I found the trails south of Catalyst to be pretty unexciting and I haven’t been back down there in a couple years, but having that progression is exactly what the trail builders are trying to accomplish.
Plenty of great and tough xc trails in the Don. Rarely see anyone north of Serena Gundy. Come hang out there next summer!

Yes, unfortunately there’s a lot less traffic starting from 5Play—I think the simple answer is that while the idea of expansion beyond 4Play was great, a number of the line choices for 5Play and 6Play just aren’t very enjoyable to ride. (Particularly coming after 4Play, which has several of the best stretches in the Don Valley.)

Yes! We went up to the Bruce Peninsula National Park and commented that it actually had a bit of elevation and fun terrain. (Also: a lot more snakes, hmmm.)

Thanks! We ended up going to the Bruce Peninsula Mountain Bike Adventure Park, as it was nice and close. The Ontario trail difficulty classification system continues to amuse me, but they’ve certainly made the most of maybe 4 total feet of elevation–a nice little mix of awkward, chunky older-school technical rock trails and a separate easier…[Read more]

Hello, visiting near Sauble Beach this weekend and wanted to get out for some decent riding. I’ve enjoyed 3 Stage before but it seems a bit far to drive. Trailforks tells me the Bruce Peninsula Mountain Bike Adventure Park is nearby–is that a good spot? Anything else people would recommend instead? A couple guys with pretty good mtb experience…[Read more]

It was amazing last night. I’ve only ridden once since Labour Day and hadn’t broken out the lights, so it was a great first night ride. Much fun!

Great conditions this weekend – hopefully things dry out in a couple days.
I did notice a new trail cut higher into the hill on Serena Grundy. It appears to be a one-way downhill trail (because of several little jumps) but unfortunately it’s neither as fast nor as fun as the existing root-filled DH section – which also appears to have been m…[Read more]

Shortcuttomoncton replied to the topic Fox Fork Service – Where? in the forum TECH TALK 2 years, 5 months ago
I had a very bad experience at Cycle Solutions Parliament earlier this summer with a shock service, fork rebuild and a few component swaps. They did a good job trying to address some of my complaints and could have just been a really bad day at the office for the mechanic, but I’ve completely lost confidence tbh.
