Where is the bypass for the Hydro works at Millwood? I ended up turning around this morning. Otherwise, ridge, flats, boo are pretty great. Bottom of swamp is a mess, but otherwise good. SHT is a mud pit at the bottom. Getting there though… beautiful day!
Just rode Pottery -> Ridge… aside from a few muddy spots here and there, it’s pretty dry! Couldn’t see an easy way through the Hydro works though… took a bit of schlepping to get across.
Indeed. Anyhoo… Rode Pottery -> Crothers -> Ridge -> Boo -> Swamp -> Woods Gundy -> SHT as well as Flats this morning, all pretty decent apart from a few greasy spots and some bad rutting on Boo and Flats. Came out with a clean bike! Loving this weather.
Hoping for prime frozen conditions tomorrow morning. Got in early this morning, did Pottery -> Ridge -> Boo -> Swamp -> Woods Gundy -> SHT… all in excellent form. Noticed a couple of tweaks on Ridge, including a line shift on the long hill west of Millwood.
The waters have receded, but there’s lots of evidence of their passing! The rock crossing at Pottery Road trailhead has been washed away. Lots of sand flows, rutting on slopes. Other than squishy low bits, surfaces are not too bad actually… as long as you remember those wet roots are super slippery. With today’s sun and heat, things should dry…[Read more]
Had an awesome ride this morning… Pottery, Crothers, Flats, Boo, Swamp, Woods Gundy, Ridge, Three Rocks. Had to walk around a few spots, but so great to be back in there! Thanks to whoever moved the tree on WG, and all the trail fairies for all your dedication.
