I don’t have a pack with me, so I’m going to have to wear something with pockets tonight. Yeah… that’s what I’m going with……

My bike is on the car. I hope I don’t slow you guys down tonight. It’s been a while.

I’m heading down on the train right now. May be a few minutes late to loblaws.

A route can be put together using some trail, some paved, but mostly dirt roads up to Durham Forest.
I’ve been thinking about getting dropped off in Belleville with a few people and take a couple days to ride back into the city on the rail trails via Peterborough, Lindsay, Uxbridge.
I like it Marc!

Besides the Phillips and the JIS there’s also PoziDriv. It’s a Phillips without the taper that cams out the Phillips. I got one years ago from Snap-On when I ended up with about $30 of credit.
I’ve not used a JIS so cannot compare to one, but it’s a huge step up on the Phillips when working on Japanese things and Ikea furniture.

Nick Boers replied to the topic Giant USA to sell direct to consumers online by August in the forum TALKING ABOUT BIKES 4 years, 11 months ago
In some cases I can see this being a big help. One example is someone who doesn’t have a bike shop nearby that stocks Giant but wants one. They’d only have to make one trip to get the bike instead of two.
A few years back I wanted a specific frame, but the closest dealer to me was at Yonge and Eglinton. PITA for me to get over there, and I had to…[Read more]

I think I see some Durham Forest and Dagmar in those shots.
That’s a good bit of riding Marc. Jealous. Hasn’t been a good season for me.

What time is racing expected to start? I’m trying to sort out my weekend schedule, and it’s going to be hard!

We did some of the East, some of the West, and then some of us went down to Ontario Place to watch the Air Show and take a ride on a boat.
60km day for me.
Thanks for hosting us on your boat Andrew!

That was quite the cast you bought to that ride last year. Have fun!
There was not enough interest to run my long ride, but will try again Thanksgiving weekend.
It looks like I’ll be joining some form of BDDR now.

Where have the spokes been failing? Have they been breaking at the J bend, or at the nipples?
If not well stress relieved, spokes can start failing after 1-2000km due to fatigue. If the wheels have been fine for two years and are suddenly popping spokes frequently without any obvious cause, it’s possibly fatigue failures from a lack of proper…[Read more]

What did you have in mind @ghettocruiser ?
Ride to Kelso, Hardwood, Albion, or Durham forest, ride around, ride back?
If we do a SBDDR, I’m planning to ride to, and home from the ride. Should put it over 200km.

Three weeks until Labour day, which means it’s time to start this discussion…..
Anyone interested in doing another SBDDR this year? Loblaws start around 8am, ride all day covering basically everything in the Don up to Steeles, 80-110km.
Or… any other suggestions? Last years Lake Simcoe ride was pretty good.
I could host my typical…[Read more]

Too bad I didn’t see this in March.
I got a pair of prescription Wiley-X Romer-II from optics planet say… 8 or 9 years ago for safety glass use. Fit well, good coverage, the prescription was just as it should be, and they looked good. A few years later I got Lasik, and $20 put a pair of non prescription shade lenses in them.
For anyone else…[Read more]

Nick Boers replied to the topic What do I have to do to make you go tubeless? in the forum TALKING ABOUT BIKES 5 years, 5 months ago
1″ wide .001″ thick Polyester electrical tape made by 3M, purchased through McMaster-Carr. 3M lists it in .001 and .002 thickness, but I’ve not found a source for low quantities of the .002 unless you buy the Stans. 50m roll was around $20. I use two wraps to make up for the thickness difference. It’s been great for me.
I make my own sealant.

…or get it caught on a branch on Motown and make it to the top of the lookout climb with it tattered and hanging at your ankle and the girl who was hanging out with her boyfriend up there can’t stop staring.

I was planning to take the train, but if a vehicle would be helpful, I can bring one.
Can we make it a quick or short route so we don’t need lights? It’ll be better without backpacks!
I don’t need a thong. Ainsley told me she has pineapple panties for me.
