Last night was great – sightlines are amazing – we forget how much it will grow in over the next few weeks
Ridge – First time across the ridge this year – recent work by the crew was appreciated. Part way along there is an alt descent over some roots to a little bridge – that bridge needs some love. As much as I hate the Millwood climb I hate the…[Read more]
Finally got out Sat – great to be back in The DON!
Calling all chain saws – Roads Apples has two trees down – if riding it clockwise the first one is about 3/4 of the way around and the second one is on the way down the hill as you exit Road Apples.
Rode Ridge/Beaver Flats/Swamp/Woods Gundy/Secret Hidden/Road Apples before lunch – Rain served to clump the dust a bit and tighten up the trails however without more rain it will be dust again by tomorrow. Get out there ASAP!
With conscripts in tow did Ridge (tree still down)and Boo then circled north through the Rainbow Tunnel and rode Kitchen Sink & Motown north to south on Sat afternoon and the later two are in fantastic shape. Lots of evidence of making and raking on both trails – high recommend you ride them today!
Trails were great last night. Run from your keyboard and get out – this weather!!!
A few trees down on Training Loop
Big thanks for the work done on Beaver Flats – my new fav trail.
The rebuilt bridge (huge thanks to the builder and his dogs for the effort!!!) is solid and that whole hillside is reclaimed!
Kinda surprised by the trees on the flats – seems more like a dick move than a strategy?
Training Loop – prime conditions – not gonna get any dryer
Trump Jump – can’t imagine the city took it down – then who!
Beaver Flats-discovered the construction at night with lights – was a bit of a WTF moment – hope they don’t f that up, its my new fav…[Read more]
Rode from Serena Gundy to Pottery and back at 7:00 last night. Trails I rode were very rideable. The Don was roaring with lots evidence of flooding,
The section south of Woods Gundy to Eglinton had flooded but the trail remains. Erosion at the bank was significant with cracks feet from the trail.
Swamp was fine
Boo – had flooded but trail…[Read more]
“…was requested by Sunnybrook emergency people”
That’s both funny and sad at the same time. If Sunnybrook emergency can point to a spot in the Don and say “ya, fix that spot” then we’ve had an arbitor all along that we might be unaware of.
What do they think about the new sketchy log ladder over the punky long on Boo? I’d be curious if they…[Read more]
Rode late yesterday and trails were fantastic.
Thank you to the trail fairy who took the tree off the start of Boo. I assume there’s a plan in place for the tree on the Ridge that we have to limbo under.
Fencing – it’s gone from everyother year to everyother week. I’ve been watching the arc of this and im guessing at some point they’ll go all…[Read more]
