Great riding today. Best time I’ve had since early January. Crothers was great, just watch out on those switchbacks North of the treatment plant or slide down the icy slopes like I and a few others have. Flats, Beaver Flats, Swamp, SHT, Woods Gundy and Boo all awesome. It was damn cold though, keep those hands and feet well protected.
Rode some easy trails on my fatbike with no issue today, so popped in to Crothers from Pottery rd. Rode up to Loblaws. It went well, only had to hike it for a few meters. I ran out of time, or would have continued. It was a lot of work, and a lung burner, but worth it. May go back tmrw.
Road my way from the Beltline at Yonge to the pave Don trail at Pottery Road, to Seaton park. Totally rideable, even when you fall off the 20″ wide packed bit. I tried to ride boo, but my rear tire kept washing out on anything off camber. (4.8″ on 80mm front, 3.8″ on 50mm rear). That whole Sun Valley area was rideable as well.
Out this morning 830-945.
Gspot, rehab, sht, woods Gundy, Bunny Run were frozen and fun. Some frozen evidence of traffic makes it a rougher ride.
Ridge was turning soft in many areas by 915.
Crothers was fine.
Nice ride this morning. Mostly frozen and firm!
Rehab and Gspot were great, some icy bits.
SHT and Gundy were great
Swamp was mostly great
Bunny Run was great as usual
Ridge and Crothers were mostly good with with some damp yet firm section. Might get worse as the day goes.
On a 27.5 x2.6″, hardtail if that matters.
Early morning ride today.
-Crothers was very good. (830am)
-Ridge was mostly good (0830-900, but turning soft, quickly)
-Boo, Swamp, Woods Gundy, flats all very good 0900-0930
Everything protected from direct sunlight was frozen enough for great riding.
The next few mornings look promising.
Good conditions today on Crothers, ridge, bunny run and Climbmax. Tree down across Bunny Run, near the Archery Range end. Tried to move it but only managed to pound it down to about a foot off the ground.
Roller Flowster, SHT, Woods Gundy, Bunny Run, Ridge and Crothers are in perfect condition. Temperature was great this morning too.
Expect red ants to stay with you when you go through the high overgrowth.
At 11am, along Roller Flowster, just past the switchback with the huge berm, there was a raccoon on the trail. Weird behaviour, probably dangerous. Other than that it was mint. So was Four Play, SHT, Woods Gundy, Swamp, Boo, Bunny Run, Ridge and Crothers. Very few bugs and perfect temps.
Forgive me riders, for it has been three weeks since my last trail ride.
Was out from 1130 to 1400. Crothers and The Ridge we’re in great shape, just a few puddles.
Flats was fine as usual.
Motown was very good, some tacky sections, should be mint soon. Maybe even later today. I just love the Motown groove, Hard Rock to Smooth Jazz. Get…[Read more]
