@repack I’m not going to pretend to know what those birds are but I’ve noticed some colourful birds this spring too. I’m guessing it has to do with the leaves coming in so late, it’s pretty crazy how little canopy there is this late into the spring.
I’d venture to guess that the trees were broken in the last windstorm by hadn’t fallen over all the way, likely hung up on nearby trees. Now that the leaves have come out on the trees, a little wind might have been enough to push them over the rest of the way.
Thanks Marc for clearing out that vermin.
The trees have been cleared from Kitchen Sink south of eglinton, haven’t been north of there yet. Also thanks to whoever cleared the big tree in Woods Gundy. Too many times we’ve ranted on here about people riding in damaging conditions when the ones who are doing the damage aren’t reading any of this! Wouldn’t sending these messages to…[Read more]
I’ve also been noticing all the newly cut trees. They are mostly in spots that I never noticed trees being in the way, not sure who decided they were a problem. Hopefully people will think before they cut down trees, we ride trails in the woods because we like the trees!
