The temperature is starting to drop and I wonder if the condition is too icy to ride for non studded tires. Appreciate if anyone riding who can report back.January 3, 2019 at 8:44 am #820770
The condition was awesome last night. The thin layer of snow actually added more grip surprisingly. No need for stud. However I’m not sure how the condition will be today and tomorrow since the weather will rise to as high as 5 degrees. Get out there when you can!

Hi, new to the forum. Thanks for everyone who have been reporting trail conditions. I found them useful so I’d like to do the same.
Rode with a buddy last night from Dog Park to Pottery Road. Overall the trail conditions were decent with the usual mud spots. A couple hills on the Ridge were slippery.
Also, one strange incident to note. When we rode the Bunny Run Upper (going southbound) at around 8 o’clock someone was yelling from the top as we passed by a section. I can’t remember the exactly words but something like “hey!…. you can’t f**’ing ride here…blah blah blah”. I slowed down slightly but I didn’t stop as I was caught off guard and was busy enough to keep my balance on the trail.
He went on for a few seconds then stopped as I assume he saw my buddy came up riding behind me (with the lights). I couldn’t tell how far he was from me at the time nor how many folks were there actually. We regrouped at the exit of Bunny Run and I was a bit pis** off but not worth to go back given how dark it was. For the safety of our MTB community something to note if you are riding alone and riding at night
