It’s a public group. If you don’t get around to it you can find me on Pinkbike. I ride year round 🙂

    Cheers

And there is also a facebook group “Jefferson Forest Mountain Biking” where your efforts may gain further support. Who knows, maybe the culprit is in the group and seeing everyones reactions will have them stop… For all they know, they may think they are doing some good and you are the jerk messing their stuff up. Ignorance is bliss.

Cheater lines… like the ones on “Crackhouse” on that awesome rooty switchback ? You can literally see tire marks just going perpendicular to them just to get past that section faster. Boils my blood lol – earn it!

I live 20 minutes away from Jefferson and would be happy to ride with you and patch some of that up. I am DannyL on pinkbike (we chatted in the Newmarket and surrounding area” thread early this year) or you can reach me on facebook as Danny Levin.

    Cheers

Right on… I did choose Dagmar and man was it sweet! The conditions were perfect.

Dagmar and SCMBC trails have opened this weekend… Has anyone had a chance to ride them yet? I am planning to skip work and have a day out at one of them tomorrow 🙂

Nevermind – I checked on a map and answered my own question. Sorry to clutter the thread.

Feel free to delete my message, I don’t see an option to do so.

If you guys do option 3, does the route home pass by Albion Hills again? If not, what is the suggested route back to Toronto?

I won’t be able to do 3 days/2 nights but 2 days/1 night is certainly possible. I live 35 km east of Albion Hills so I’d just ride over in the morning and meet you all.

I bought a Norco Optic (29er) in November so I have only gotten 8 or so rides in with that bike so far… But I can tell that it is by far the best bike that I have had. I find it perfect for Ontario… 120/110 travel (130/120 travel in the 27.5) so it is very efficient yet can handle whatever jumps or drops are in my way… While I wouldn’t take her to blue, I would take her just about anywhere else. I had a 26er Anthem, 29er Norco Shinobi, 29er Rocky Mountain Instinct (upgraded to 160mm pike fork to make it more AM) and a 27.5+ Devinci Marshall before getting my Optic. I love 29ers and think they are perfect for XC riding in Ontario. My trails of choice are some of the ones that you mentioned; for Durham forest, the 29er wheels keep you moving fast, for Kelso, I appreciate the ability to roll over the rock gardens a bit easier. If you look on pinkbike, there are some Norco Optic C9.1 which is the top model carbon frame but I have noticed most are with alternate builds which makes the price more tolerable.

I am also super curious about the SC Blur. After reading that review, I couldn’t help but think that it’s a perfect bike for Ontario as well.

Good luck! New bike time is always a good time.

I’m following this thread… With an 8 month old, I feel bad just thinking about leaving the wife to deal with the baby for 3 days alone. Having said that, if I can get her mom to help out or something then this may just be possible. If not this time, next year for sure. This looks awesome.

I am going to enter the 24 Hour Summer Solstice this year… As of now I am going to be a solo entry. If that won’t motivate me to get into great overall shape – I don’t know what will.

Yeah, @soban, big thanks man! Because of your pic, I have taken the day off work tomorrow to enjoy while I can! If anyone is going to be there around noon, shoot me a message.

I also plan to ride Saturday and Tuesday… So keep the trail reports coming people, hoping that I can hit a couple different trail systems this week.

That’s epic. Would love to tag along for a ride like that sometime… I’m just learning my way around DF.
