Mary Curtis to Dundas is very over grown. I haven’t really seen anyone in there at all. I can’t blame them. I might and try and give it a trim before the winter rolls in.

This is happening in between the Hospital and the Queensway bridge. Right over part of some trail. No idea whats going on. Maybe we could ask them to trim down the rest of the overgrown trails.

@allantats Yeah i opened up that Dundas part 2 years back. Still needs some work. Only reason i never went through that part was i always thought it was private property. But i don’t think it is.

Thanks @fasttimes I didn’t really do that much work. I started and no idea who finished off the rest. The only person I seen working in there was an older hippy dude not even riding a bike. Way to many people in the trails that don’t even care to distance them selfs. Also dog walkers.

I have been doing a little cleaning up. Trails are still not ride able. But we are getting close. The moto kids are back at it again. So more rut action.

All the flooding we had a few days ago really did a number on some low parts of the trails. I really hope we don’t get any more floods. First 2 pics the trail needs a work around for sure. Crazy how close this part is to The West Mall road.
Also looks like Metro Ridge wants to land side.

With all the rain we had a few days ago there has been some flooding in the low parts. Lots of tree stumps and debris. I cleared some today but have to go back in with a saw.

I picked up a Milwaukee brushless hedge trimmer with 2 9ah batteries and a bike trailer. I started at the old historical bridge and got as far as the metro ridge. The trails were so overgrown this year it was a wall off vegetation. It would be cool if some one went threw with a weed Wacker. You can only go so low with a trimmer. I’m going to…[Read more]

Parts of the trail are starting to wash out at the beginning of Dundas heading south.
Been in there doing some cleaning up. I also benched the Metro ridge. I left the shovel close by in some tree roots if anyone needs to work on something.

Thanks for the suggestions. The issue has gone away. Seems like it only needed some time to break in.

Someone has groomed the trails from the lake up the old historical bridge. No fat bike needed. Also the big fenced off area close to the lake with the water tower is now open. Going out again before the warm up sloppy mess.

The cranks are some old 960 XTR running a wolf tooth NW chain ring. Ill measure the chain line to see. With a 142mm rear end you need a 49mm chain line. With boost 148mm you need a 51mm chainline.

Trying to figure out a slight problem I’m having with a Sram NX eagle install. I have some chain noise in the lower gears. Shifting through the hole cassette is butter smooth. B tension is good. Chain length looks good here are some pics.
The rear hub is a bikehubstore M270 which has been great for a low end mountain bike hub.

I just got back from a ride in the creek. Everything was great except for the person who thought it would be a good idea to ride before the deep freeze. The ridge at the Metro is in real bad shape. Some spots are probably going to need a work around cause they are going to get washed out. Get out there if you can the trails are primo.

I should have enough bushing left to cut out 2 top and bottoms. My cutting guide worked great the first time. Second set of bushings were a little off. So i used the old bushing, the aluminum ones as a guide to file down. @fasttimes if you want i can cut you a set out. No problem with me more people testing something out the better.
So my…[Read more]

The signs are back up for access under the QEW bridge saying its closed until 2021. Still open but i have a feeling they are going to fence the hole area off limits.

You definitely need the right tools before you attempt the rebuild that’s for sure. I think most the horror stories are from people crushing parts of the post sticking them in a vice without soft jaw inserts. I might just get a new bench vice myself its a little small and has broken jaws. I’ll make my own jaw inserts to clamp round parts for…[Read more]
