I rode the whole trail today and have to say things look pretty good in there. Lots of foot and dog traffic but that’s to be expected these days.

Thank you to those who have been getting dirty making things ridable. Keep up the good work.

    Some epic rides man!

I’m glad you escaped the car incident without injury.

When I’m fully healed up, you got to show me this loop.

Should be a fun ride to start off the season. I think I can make it.

Also let me know if you want company on any scouting rides.

Just have to give everyone a heads up.

The old pallet bridge that is at the northern part of the trail on the east side of the creek is no longer safe. I don’t even know how it’s still in place.

    Please be cautious.

Today I did my part and tackled some of the bad drainage spots on the east ridge north of the golf course. I dug in several drainage trenches as well as dredged out the leaves. I removed all the branches people added in an attempt to make a bridge but they only acted like a dam for more water. Finally I began to armour the single track as well as stacked some dead fall to control traffic. Yes some of the dead full is blocking some of the fun lines with some roots and little a little kicker, but things have to dry out and most likely be repaired.

I did drain the nasty section that has been widened to over ten feet. Same treatment as above, I just don’t know if it can be salvaged. We may have to reroute and close that section. We should meet up in person and discuss.

    Hey guys,
Good to see the usual guys are putting in the effort to maintain our little network. I feel stupid because I’ve been waiting patiently for the trails to dry out so that I can go for a ride while everyone else has been irresponsible.

I laced up my running shoes and ran the north and south sections all winter long on the days when I know the ground was frozen. What I watched the damage happen from February on, with the repeated freeze thaw cycles, the “fair weather” motors and the cyclists where out making ruts. By the end of winter the frozen ruts where so bad I had to stop running the trails because they where messing up my ankles.

All this damage was done well before the spring thaw and rain season and now whenever we have a nice day the riders are out making a bad situation worse.

Actually #skyguy it was I who you met Wednesday night. It was an amazing night for a ride, I ended up riding the whole northern loop that night.

We should try and schedule a night ride in the future.

    just a follow up.

Mississauga was very prompt about collecting that pile of trash! I had contacted them on Tuesday morning via there webpage and by my Wednesday night ride it was already cleaned up.

This is great, now i’d love to a see trail cleanup day arranged and really tackle the garbage in that section.

It was a beautiful November day, I hope everyone got out and enjoyed a ride.

I spent my afternoon picking up debris around the storm sewer just south of matheson. In a few hours it is just incredible the crap people toss into the ravines. The avalanche of garbage is still there, maybe with a few other guys we could tackle it.

I did try putting Ina call to Mississauga 311 about getting the pile picked up, but they dont accept garbage requests on weekends.

I’m not sure, but I think that the trails are a little wet today. Let’s get out there and rip up the trails!
    Let the mud fly.

I do agree that having the paved path continue to Sherway is good progress.

Now my problem would be if they want to push through north and connect with the paved path in the northern loop south of Eglinton. I wouldn’t want to see the entire southern loop disappear, unless they route the path through the dog park then I wouldn’t care.

Hey @singlesprocket I’m just curious as to what progress has been made in the past four months?

No problem #FastTimes I’ve been told that I’m a workaholic, so anything that keeps my hands busy puts a smile on my face.

For sure we should hook up for ride, either local or abroad. I would like to tag along to turkey point sometime since I’ve never been.
