FYI – I came across a fellow sitting just by the overflow drain off Sismet road. On the map below, it’s at the top of the sharp bend in the trail.
He is a middle eastern man, in his mid 30s. He was sitting there, smoking up and drinking a coffee. I don’t care if someone is out in the woods getting high but this…[Read more]

I ventured out to the Creek for the first time on Saturday and everything I found around Centennial Park seemed to be riding really well! Great job @fasttimes @braindamaged and @dirtseeker ! There is so few people out there compared to the Don. I did not see a single other rider, and only a few peds on the paved paths that were all super friendly…[Read more]

Spent another half day with @braindamaged and @dirtseeker reopening the Meglington trails. Was just as hard as doing it the first time since we haven’t been in there in two years. It was head high grass and vines as far as the eye could see. The trails add nearly a Kilometer of flowy singletrack to the northern loop. Was pretty gruelling work…[Read more]

I plan to try and tackle the above mentioned issues tomorrow. Unless someone would like to take them on for us?
Myself @braindamaged and @dirtseeker plan to reopen the Meglington section this weekend. That is the new westside trail that runs between Eglington and Matheson. South of the original Matheson loop.
The entrance is overgrown as is…[Read more]

Awesome @braindamaged Glad you can make it. Your new bike should be perfect for this.
You’re always welcome on the recon rides buddy. I’ll message you about this weekend.
I might try the section at the top of the Humber tomorrow. Lot going on in that area and up to Kleinburg so I want to make sure my road bypasses connect. Other areas…[Read more]

Two weeks ago riding with @braindamaged I smashed my shin into a stump along the side of the trail. It hurt and felt like I had busted my leg. It kicked the ass end of my bike out but I never crashed, just kept riding. Despite cleaning the wound it remained infected and oozed daily. At one point it was infected all the way to my knee and down to…[Read more]

Looks great @braindamaged – thanks for the work. I haven’t been up there yet this season but man that trail is BLOWN out. Appreciate your efforts to ‘Keep singletrack single’. I am all for getting together to talk in person about some options.
I was also out on Saturday morning working in the South. Basically, just making my way North.…[Read more]

Pretty awesome day riding the Elora Cataract Trailway today. I rode the Caledon trailway a bunch last summer but this was my first time on this one. Equally nice but with less little hamlets to roll through. We started at the Forks of the Credit and rode through some nice singletrack. Some big climbs in there. Was a tricky day to dress and…[Read more]

Ask and ye shall receive. Quick email to Vince D’Elia at the TRCA followed up a phone call and here is the info:
Re: the bridge – CN is Federally regulated so really they only have to do the courtesy of letting TRCA know that they are doing work in the Valley lands (TRCA was aware of the work). Also, since they are regulated by another body…[Read more]

Headed back up with @braindamaged today. Super fun ride exploring the northern section of the creek. And can confirm, it does not connect. No idea what they are reffering to in those links but it’s all a bog.
Nonetheless we explored and had a blast. I’ll start a new thread in the Etobicoke Creek thread with more details.

Rode Puslinch with @braindamaged today. Ran into @Atom as well. Trails are mostly blown where it matter, such as the hardwoods. Big greasy in spots but just enough to be fun. Otherwise dry and grippy. Great day!

@braindamaged I completely agree that it would great to see no more pavement show up in the Creek. Obviously, the great irony is that there is so much talk about conservation and preservation yet they are looking to rip a paved path up the middle of a Ravine…
Fact is that Sherway Trail Link has been on the books for ever – at least the ten…[Read more]

Hey @braindamaged I sense that you are not thrilled by this, but I could be reading into it.
What, if anything, are you concerned about?
When this news first broke I tweeted to the Councillor,TRCA and CoT to suggest this would be an ideal time to incorporate some kind of filter to prevent Motos from accessing the trails North of the bridge…[Read more]

Nice work @braindamaged and @allantats Thanks for the hard work as always. Thanks also for pointing a fellow creek rider towards our community here.
Just a note to please not post any major trail work to this main forum. Thanks!
Look forward to getting out for a ride with you lads soon!

Glad to hear you pulled the trigger @allantats You’ll love it. 30lbs is nothing to worry about and while they can be a chore to get up to speed at times, the roll-ability and traction will keep you going. You’ll just need to get stronger and learn to carry that speed. Trust the tires, they wont let you down.
If you can, make the move to…[Read more]
