And the winner is…. O-Chute! That’s right, O-Chute will be the official track for the 2014 East Coast Open. The trail will be open this upcoming weekend (Friday to Monday) for public access, and then will close for race preparations until official practice begins on Friday, June 27. Keep an eye on the Blue Mountain Bike Park Facebook page for photos of the course prior to the event.

Rider Assessments

Just a reminder that all riders under the age of 18 MUST complete our annual Rider Assessment. The assessment center is open during all operating hours, so if you can make it up here before the event it is great to get it over with! For riders who cannot come before the event, you are able to pre-book your rider assessments during specific times on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday online at Smoothbook. Make sure you book ahead of time to secure your spot!

We will be running additional assessments for the general public and racers during these days as well, but they do not have a set schedule, and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If you do not pre-book an assessment, please be prepared for some wait times when you arrive to complete it.

Waivers

You can save time at registration and fill out the online waiver HERE. Riders 17 years of age and under MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian if you are signing the waiver ON-SITE, so it is strongly suggested you fill out the waiver AT HOME with your parents.

Supporting Events

Friday Night we will be hosting a free outdoor screening of Rad Company in the center of the village. Make sure you pull up a chair to take in this flick on the big screen. Movie starts at dusk. Following the premiere, don’t miss the Official East Coast Open Athlete Welcome Party at Kaytoo. Riders must show their ECO pass and ID at the door before 11pm.

Open Rider Seeding Run

There is an official seeding run from 3-4pm on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Registration for Open divisions will close at 12:30pm on this day.

Whip Off

Congrats to the riders who have been nominated for the Whip Off on Saturday night!  Thanks to Ridingfeelsgood.com for the contest, check to see who made the cut HERE. Remember that there are still wildcard spots for those who would like to qualify. Qualifications will run from 6-7pm.
