Hey folks,
Just a quick note that we will be doing some backend work on the site this week. While I expect it should go smoothly, it rarely does 🙂
The one thing you may notice is that the image uploads are no longer working. The gallery is currently full so we need to add some more space. Which is great because it means you are using it, and that makes us happy.
Please feel free to reach out if you notice any disruptions during this or anytime while experiencing the site.
Thanks,

February 3, 2017 at 10:22 am #815240Since the update the menu bar above the posting box is screwed up when using Chrome. See attached pic to see what I mean.
On MS Edge it is fine.

February 3, 2017 at 10:27 am #815242Thanks. I had that as well but after a refresh it was ok again. I’ll send this to the web team. Let me know if a refresh fixes the issue for you. Thanks
February 6, 2017 at 11:29 am #815253All seams to be good now. I had tried loading the page multiple times from scratch but don’t think I tried refresh.
One other issue is that I am not able to add pics into the body of the message, only the Attach Media method. I tried uploading pics to the Photo Gallery and pasting the url into the
menu option, but I always end up with the broken pic icon in place of the actual image. Am I doing something wrong or is it something that non admins just can’t do?
By the way, thanks for all you do for this site @fasttimes.
February 6, 2017 at 12:15 pm #815255Thanks @durham-rider I do my best 🙂
Sometimes images just wont format due to things out of our control but for the most part it should work if the proper url, without {brackets], is placed between the img tags . Most of the time the issue is not getting the root url of the image. I find sometimes it works best to right click and “open image in new window” I then copy that url and have good success.
As an example, if its an image you have uploaded to our gallery, click “view original” Then copy and past that link from your browser.

February 6, 2017 at 12:32 pm #815258Aha, I got it now. I was pasting the url address within the brackets. Thanks again.
Oh and thanks for the super quick reply. I thought you might be out ripping us some single track on your Pivot.
One suggestion that I have is to have a preview option so we can look at how our posts will look before committing to posting. Just a thought.
Now off to the forest for some Altai Hoking.
February 6, 2017 at 1:20 pm #815274Thanks!
A preview option would be great, and we used to have one, but it was one of the many features we opted to ditch as part of the last major revamp. The goal became to make the site light, fast and mobile friendly so some of the capabilities found in dedicated forum boards, like this used to run on, were passed up. We’re slowly implementing more features but the goal will always be simplicity and mobility.
There is also no budget for this very costly work as most of our funds go to supporting others more than ourselves.
February 6, 2017 at 6:42 pm #815279Ok,
Ask and you shall receive.
There is now live preview window below the posts as you type and add images.
Please note, there is a slight delay as it renders the post but seems to work ok,
Let me know how this works for everyone.
Thanks,

February 8, 2017 at 10:52 pm #815293Did something happen with the live preview as I am not seeing it?
February 9, 2017 at 10:33 am #815297Too buggy. Had to remove it. I’m up north on a ski shoot so can’t fix it at the moment. The original post editor is in place for now.
