I finally got around to riding this gem earlier in the spring this year. It’s one of the earliest trail systems ready to roll while the permafrost still sits on our other tracks. I was in there riding dirt in march this year. There are some really good people behind this place.
I got out yesterday with a really good group of guys – Dundas crew and the folks from Marin Canada. We did a 30km fast loop and only scratched the surface of the nearly 100km of trail there. It’s pretty much Kingdom Trails in Ontario. If only Ontario Tourism would get behind it, SCMBC and DMBA. These are fantastic trail systems that, with marketing dollars and support, could attract other riders to ride and explore Ontario. We’re not BC but there is enough here to create something meaningful.
Anyway, all that to say, the ride and group was amazing. Just offered to get shown more trails and the “secret” stuff so I will definitely be back for more. Love to add riding the whole place to my bucket list this year. They do host a Fall Ripper, which is coming up,September 14, 2016 at 9:47 am #812946
Love TP. Been there 3x and haven’t covered it all. And the beach is there for a swim which I took advantage of after a 35C ride!September 14, 2016 at 11:00 am #812948
Interesting and good to know. This year we camped for a week at Port Burwell a little further down the shore on Lake Erie, but the addition of riding and golfing (?!) makes this option pretty attractive for next year….September 15, 2016 at 10:19 am #812955
Love to see what mayor Meiklejon and the gang have been up to out there. Really need to make that a priority destination to get to!
Sacred rides has a cool looking weekend package out there too – http://www.sacredrides.com/singletrackrides/ontario/wilderness-weekendSeptember 21, 2016 at 1:55 pm #813057
