We have numerous posts which relate to gravel riding and racing elsewhere on the site but it’s becoming quite popular so thought it should have its own thread making it easier for those interested to find information.
There is an older thread with some urban loops for those interested (http://www.ridingfeelsgood.com/topic/share-your-urban-loops/ ), but we’ll move more dedicated gravel rides here for discussion.
So please share your events, rides, routes, bikes, tires and setups here.
December 3, 2016 at 7:48 pm #814559Pretty awesome day riding the Elora Cataract Trailway today. I rode the Caledon trailway a bunch last summer but this was my first time on this one. Equally nice but with less little hamlets to roll through. We started at the Forks of the Credit and rode through some nice singletrack. Some big climbs in there. Was a tricky day to dress and be comfortable for over a 60km ride but @braindamaged and I faired pretty well. I packed extra layers to be on the safe side. Looking at the location in relation to the Caledon tract, it seem possible to link it all together for a pretty epic ride. Lots to explore for sure. Pretty terrific ride for a December day.
December 4, 2016 at 11:27 pm #814561This looks awesome. Do you have the route information that you can post via Strava or a pic by chance?

December 5, 2016 at 8:52 am #814562@cyclesolutions not sure if this was their exact route but here is the site: http://trailway.org/
Easy distance from the City and lots of great places to stop eat/ pick up local food most times of the year.
December 5, 2016 at 8:56 am #814563You got it @cyclesolutions
Here is the Elora Cataract Trailway we did.
And here is the Terra Cotta to Tottenham ride. You can definitely link these and others up.
December 5, 2016 at 9:08 am #814565Here is a quick Photoshop overlay of the two in relation to one and other. So to go from Elora to Tottenham would be simple enough. Roughly 100km.

December 6, 2016 at 6:56 pm #814591Looks like fun…sorry I missed this one!
December 6, 2016 at 7:52 pm #814593What about creating a section just for gravel? That way nothing gets buried in a thread.

I dont think we’re quite there yet, but certainly if it becomes more popular I will. When you look at the massive state-side events like Dirty Kanza you can see the potential. We have our share or gravel in the province.

Marc, been working on a project off and on for a few years of a local route. Will share later in the year once it has been ridden. To date it has been driven recce to check ideas vs what is on a map.
February 10, 2017 at 11:48 pm #815304February 16, 2017 at 6:51 pm #815331I’ve been doing the same my friend. So much potential. Looking forward to seeing your routes @dirty-c4.
Also, Outspoken Cycles is holding their ‘Tillsonburn’ 160km, 100km, 50km April 14th.
Stuff I am seeking out are probably not gravel grinding. Been taking some inspiration from Scottish mountain bikers who count ATV track and what not as part of riding.
