Underground races have really taken off in Ontario over the past few years. I am a big supporter of the officially sanctioned series but there is something about these Toonie races that I love – the vibe is different. Not sure whether it’s the more relaxed format, smaller group of riders or the now famous post-race photo sessions but these have become a permanent fixture in our scene here in Ontario. I have been shooting these since the very first events popped up a few years ago and it’s nice to see them grow like they have. Thirty eight riders participated in the race this weekend which may be the new record. Even more noteworthy, four of Ontario’s finest female racers took part in the event. More…
