The waters have receded, but there’s lots of evidence of their passing! The rock crossing at Pottery Road trailhead has been washed away. Lots of sand flows, rutting on slopes. Had an awesome ride this morning… Pottery, Crothers, Flats, Boo, Swamp, Woods Gundy, Ridge, Three Rocks. Had to walk around a few spots, but so great to be back in there! Thanks to whoever moved the tree on WG, and all the trail fairies for all your dedication.
Tried my luck this morning… not so great. Mud was frozen solid, but so were the ice sheets. And thanks to last night’s dusting, it was very hard to tell the difference between light snow over leaves and instant wipeout. I made it from Pottery to Redway (slowly) and partway into the Ridge before bailing.
Super busy out there today, thanks to near-perfect riding conditions. Tree still down on Ridge. New line around the erosion on Flats. Nice to see work still being done this late in the season! Someone filled in that little drainage gully on Boo with a bunch of sticks… helps in the short term I guess.
Just rode Pottery, Flats, Boo, Swamp, SHT, Ridge and Crothers… a few puddles , but otherwise pretty much perfect! Nice and grippy. Leaves have largely mulched/blown away too so not as much of a hazard. Beautiful day to get out there!
