Hey @blurredlines – Thanks for your positively with the City and rider community continuously, its a tough spot to sift through both sides and come across reasonable to all parties.
i’m not OG Don person.. But i see two sides of riding in the Don – single track and fad-fun obstacles.
For the latter – the City has too much red tape and can’t…[Read more]
– All the trails named above have set builders whom have built them, frequent them, maintain, update and so on.
– City of Toronto has already engaged the don trail network with their Ridge project.
– Flats fence is denoting private CN owned land.

I did not make a formal goal for 2016 other than do better than last year (about 1500km)
However, if you are logging your rides its always in the back of your head and was always aware the end of the year would come.
Came out with 137 rides (more unlogged for sure) 2352km’s, 181hrs moving, close to 30k elevation (removing…[Read more]
Sunday was glory town on the fatbike.
Motown, cat, rimjob, climb, bunny, return – all soo soo fun
and the conditions went from sandpaper to floaty fun during the mid am to early aft.
Rimjob wet climb corner is ice sheet … lol
I was not the only one to fall there says the tire tracks.
Few CX wheels rutted out some known muddy spots, now frozen ruts.
Someone sabotaged and destroyed part of kitchen sink
A large down’d tree was moved onto trail on a blind riders left down section.
Also both pre fab’d wooden bridges have been removed after the short road climb then on trail heading north.
Finally, some new features were torn out.
Suspect angry nature enthusiast …
+1 for @tpratt‘s recommendation on a T bolt.
29r’s do not jump. I mean they do, but they are not ideal.
As someone who is / was in your position I can offer the following.
Both my friend and I bought smaller travel trail bikes to “do-it-all-in-Ontario”.
He bought a RM T-Bolt BC ed (120/130mm) and I was on an alumn SC 5010 (125mm/140mm pike)
1) South lift opening? If so, what is the proposed operating schedule?
2) Slope trail on a main run being entertained?
3) Any new flow trails similar to minions / h20 / haole being added
Thanks and stoked to hear back and stoked for next year!
@fasttimes – you hit on two great points and I would agree i am bias due to my 2 x negative experiences.
HOWEVER … maybe your other point of “right and wrong way to use the post” may help tract down failure.
I am admittedly very hard on things. Just like the transition from single speed, half-link BMX drive train to fancy delicate flower of…[Read more]
Such a fun day and thank you for putting it on @billgraham!
As someone showing up for the first time i was stoked on the community and openness of the group.
Also really happy to see Gar up after his crash and all the concerned people looking to help.
The course was mega fun and you nailed it with the dirt conditions.
Cant wait for…[Read more]
Can confirm the run from Topo to B.O.T is amazing right now
Lots of trail work too – much appreciated to the people putting in effort to clear leaves and maintain the trail.
Some time was spent to clear the remaining leaves as needed during the ride.
Topo – thanks to whomever re-benched it and took out the early tree stump that always tried to…[Read more]
@fasttimes – full rebuild was my next step … after randomly comming across the literature on sram’s site, just didn’t want to commit to that level yet lol
@matthewg – post #1 – any temp, post # 2 – seems more temp dependent, friday eve ride was maybe 5-6C in the valley …
*if – temp is the issue – could i not put my oil in the freezer for a…[Read more]
Scoured the internet with not much luck so I am asking here
I have (2) RS Reverb Stealth A1/A2 125mm dropper posts have given me nothing but grief.
Problem – works fine then starts to slow down on return until it stops.
Solution – bleed the post properly (including cycling the speed controller and the actuator lever)
Sooo – first…[Read more]
Ahhhh Jefferson – prob my fav find this year
Single Track – Some great use of terrain (think Motown meets Durham forest) in the south / west quadrant of the forest. Some more tech single track on the east side of the forest.
DH / Flow trail – Amazing use of the central valley ridge on the west side of the double track and split between north and…[Read more]
