  • That second big roller always erodes on the right side, leading to some sketchyness. A couple of years ago it crumbled really bad and I came in unprepared and it was a li’l scary for sure. I can see people bailing there. I’ve seen quite a few riders trying to walk those, haha.

@mcbain funny you mention the frogs, I was by Boomerang and couldn’t…[Read more]

  • Ugh, gross! I was hoping they’d be disappearing, but sounds like they’re blooming now. Will be interesting at night…

  • Should be decent in there tonight, keep an eye out on the steep stuff facing north.

  • When will the caterpillars die? I find those gross little worms very distracting.

As for the current debate, I think it would be easy enough to put simple designation at major trail intersections. Blue square, black diamond etc. People need to be responsible for themselves generally, I think, but giving people a heads up is never a bad thing.…[Read more]

  • Whole west and boomerang were straight up amazing today. Such a good time of year.

Also, I swear more trees are falling this year.

  • It is shocking not only how well it works, but also how easy it is to forget. I’m prone to staring at the first meter ahead of my wheel when things are more difficult, but you need the long view so looking ahead gets your body ready while you’re peripheral vision can do the rest. Helps with jumps too. Just my opinion, though, and I’m by no means…[Read more]

  • @stephen_reese best advice I have to tell myself again and again.

Motown yesterday morning was pretty decent, but you’d have to wait until later today for it to dry out (again)

  • I think there are a few sections of trail that go beyond more traditional “XC”, but overall it’s not all that technical. The hardest thing in there are some of the steep awkward climbs and creepy wood structures that look like they’re gonna break under your weight. Skinny off-camber clay trails that run on the edge of steeper drops mess with your…[Read more]

  • You’re right, they’re technically in the west, just find the way I use the system CAT-PA-Climbmax-Bunny all fall into the “I don’t have time to go east or west” category. Crossing to the “east” and continuing on Swamp create mental barriers for me. A very biased perspective from someone who rides up the ridge to start riding, haha.

  • Things are dreamy in there this morning, at least everything Pottery to BOT, which basically means all is well everywhere. So good in there right now. No dust, few bugs, good site lines.

CAT – BOT – Climbmax – Bunny – what should these be called? The central trails? They’re not west, they’re not east…

  • Enjoyed the Beaver Flats yesterday. I’ve been on the section close to Catalyst, which for years just ended in the river, but was pleasantly surprised by all the fern lined trials further northwest into Sunnybrook(?). Nice alternative heading back towards the Ridge if you’re done with climbs. It also seems to have more flow in that direction.…[Read more]

  • Amazing report BlurredLines. Thanks for all the hardwork, builders!

I’d like to make a shout out to the lame little bridgelet on the south side of the table top in the gully past the three downlines going north after Millwood bridge (that clear? haha). That table top is a nice little floater coming home at the end of a ride, but now it has a…[Read more]

  • I was in this morning but forgot to check out Yella’s handywork. You guys moved some serious dirt.

Riding this time of year is the best. Great dirt and amazing visibility, which is handy, cause I think we’re at the point where Crother’s should be considered a hiking trail first. It’s busy at all hours now, lots of dogs & older people from…[Read more]

  • You predicted the future. Sunday was Don Perfection. Only thing I would have changed was having more time and legs to go with it. So good!

A well known Don Drinker has confirmed the availability of beer at that Blobs.

Unfortunately my availability is ruined, so I can’t make today. BUMMER!

Have a blast team. I’ll wear my DVTO T in honor of your radness.

    It just rained again 🙁

@marley Thanks for the tunes! Just saw that.

BTW, while Amersterdam is a perennial fave for Don parties, just a heads up that Loblaws sells beer too if you’re in a pinch.
