I’ve always used coil suspension. My Elka rear suspension on the DH bike is great. But when ever I’m considering buying an all mountain/xc style bike I always thought the lightness of air suspension would win me over regardless of feel. I don’t want to pedal any weight I don’t need to up hill.
I’ve never taken a guided bike trip before, but I have done guided climbing trips down in the southern states. I’m also a trained (and working) canyon guide/backcountry camping guide. I just read the news. CRC has canned their downhill team to put a focus on enduro.
Could this be the first sign of the DH apocalypse? Maybe, maybe not. Enduro bikes and the sport in general are much more affordable to the public. A DH bike is pretty much limited to bike parks and shuttlecocks, and that adds a lot of cost to the already expensive…[Read more]
